Yes, he could potentially become a #1 goaltender in the NHL... Maybe I've just been burned too badly by Picard and Brule, but I'm not gonna put anything on his shoulders until he's ready. A year or two in Syracuse, and then we'll see.
I would say that he is an outstanding prospect, with excellent potential since he has been pretty much tagged "untouchable" right now. Will be in the Cuse next year.
I read an article recently (sorry cannot seem to re-find the link) but it was when Mason was first hurt...the writer said his talent (Mason's) was on par with Montreal rookie Casey Price. Obviously, just one hockey writer's opinion...
