Next topic.

There was never any contact on Umburgers knee!!! Pleks hit him on the hip with his butt....no knee contact at all.

Umburger took a dive hoping that the refs would even things up since Hatcher was getting a penalty. It didn't work and he looked like a tool.

I particularily liked when Umburger was on the ice about 5 minutes afterwards and we leading the rush into the Montreal end. There didn't seem to be one thing wrong with him at that point. So much for the wonky knee excuse. If he had a wonky knee and injured it on Pleks little rub, then he wouldn't have been leading the rush 5 minutes after.

That's for sure... he almost outraced Bouillon to the puck, and everyone knows the little 5 foot 8 defenseman is slow as molasses.

I saw nothing but a dive.

I hate Philly. and some of their fans are really annoying.

The replay shows it ; Plekanec BARELY touches him. I laughed so hard when I saw that.

He tore his MCL/ACL (whichever is in the knee) a few weeks back, so I think when Plekanec's foot caught his foot it kind of buckled his bad knee, he wasn't diving it was just a bad luck play.

Looks like Philly, after all their whining about diving, have resorted to the same tactics. Sad display, really.

Yeah but Philly's press is crying all over about it almost saying Plekanec's play is almost as dirty as Hatcher check from behind on Bouillon because Bouillon got up on his feet and not Umberger that needs help to leave the ice.

Thats the funniest and stupidest thing i have ever heard.

Edit: heres the funny article.

Plekanec's hit was dirty. A 2 min should have been called there.

The Hatcher hit was dirty too, but this one was deserving a 2min too. Not a fricking 5min.

Really? Weak hip check = a hit from behind?

What ?

Plek did a Kasparaitis with his butt.

The hit from behind did nothing to Bouillon. He got up as fast has he got hit. HIS hit on Hatcher was as bad since it was from behind. He just had do fight him if he had balls.

I think he was trying to pull a Ribeiro.

LOL, just quit while your behind. Plekanec was trying to get a little bit in Diveburger's way, there's no way that was dirty, no freaking way...

And I think you'd be wrong...if you watch the play closely his left knee buckles in slightly, and given the knee injury he suffered against the Pens I wouldn't be shocked if the area is 1) already tender; 2) weakened due to the ligaments being stretched out (i have a friend who dislocates his thumb at a love tap because of this); 3) he's conscious of the fact that it's wonky and in a brace.

Looks like about half of you got it right. I must say, I'm surprised.

No harm no foul. There was certainly contact, and it was certainly minor. It doesn't take much to get a charlie horse if you're going fast enough, and if the player who bumps you positions himself that solidly, it can sting pretty good.

Ridiculous to think Umberger thought he'd draw a penalty on a guy who was facing away from him and barely touched him. If he was trying to dive, there are dozens of situations in that game alone that would be more believable.

Now price on the other hand, delayed for over a second and then went down after his pad was brushed oh-so tenderly

The Hatcher penalty was atrocious. Everyone outside of quebec knows it. Boullion was only a few inches away from the boards.
1. That's not really boarding if there's no distance. The point of the penalty is to reduce dangerous plays where the player gets knocked headfirst into the boards from a few feet out. What was he in danger of? Getting hit hard? Cry me a freakin river.
2. Why did he stick his face right up in the boards when a hit was coming? Most hockey players would have their arms in front of them. Maybe he saw a hot chick in the crowd and was zeroing in for the ol' smoocheroo.

You make too many posts. All 8,000+ of them, I'd say.

He hit Umberger as much as Downie hit Price.

No one dives into the boards at that speed. Come on.

Both were slight...the reason Umberger went down is cuz that knee is already messed up, and it buckled in a bit.
