Would this guy be a good replacement for Nedved if we are unable to sign him??? It has been reported that the Kings will not qualify him, making him an unrestricted free agent. His health is a big concern as he has sat out most of the past 2 yrs, but his injury is not a concussion and doctors believe that rest was the best medicine. His contract could be low base salary with bonuses for games played. His numbers have been superior to Nedved's prior to his injury.
The next question is whether he skates well enough to play Oiler hockey. I think for that you just have to look at his PPG average and concede that he would be fine. Nedved would be my 1st choice as he has shown he fits, but if he were to walk I think Lowe needs to have someone in the #1 center role as noone on the current roster fits the bill.
