I want to see us draft some big offensive centers, or get one through free agency.
- Players who can play in traffic.
- Players willing to go to the net.
- Players who know how to screen the goalie.
- Players that will sacrifice their bodies to make a play.
- Players with accuracy in their shots.
- Players who can adjust and not consistently shoot an area that has been the strong point of the goalie all series long.

Add your desires.
especially liked this line... Danny Briere anyone?

you mean players not injured? (as in not Streit and Markov). I'm not making excuses, but it's just the reality as far as the PP goes.

Perezhogin >>>>>> Higgins and it's not even close !!

With that said,

We need a real first line player to play on the first line instead of this "wannabe first line player" Chris Higgins.

Someone like Marian Hossa would be sweet !! Also, we need a right handed shooter who can play on our top 6 and fast !!

Next year, I can see something like:

UFA - Plekanec - Kovalev
S.Kostitsyn - Koivu - A.Kostitsyn
Higgins - Grabovski - UFA
Kostopoulos - Chipchura - Lapierre

Spare: Latendresse...

Max Pacioretty! He's coming, maybe not next year, but he's coming.
Maybe he pulls a Sergei and joins the team mid-season. If not Rolston is a UFA...

I think with experience and next season the Kosty's can play a tougher style but guys like Kovy/Pleks won't go anywhere near the corners or throw a bodycheck.
Who is the one in the top six? Higgins is American.

I agree, but we need to acquire a player with size! Brian Rolston is the player we need very badly. Leadership, veteran, great defensively, and has a very good shot. Oh yeah, and his grit.

Once Andrei and Sergei hang out more with Higgins, Price, Komisarek, and Gorges; they will be more effective 5 vs 5 with the rest of the team.

I think its pretty clear what we need is more quality depth up front + more playoff warriors.

What I would do:

UFAs: Smolinski, Grabovski, Ryder, Locke, Lahti, Milroy, Engelhardt, Ferland, Streit, Brisebois, Cote, Biron, Archer, Danis, Baines, Corso, Manlow, Gleed
TRADE: Dandenault
PROSPECTS IN: Pacioretty, Maxwell, White, Cepek, Weber

MONTREAL

Andrei Kostitsyn - Tomas Plekanec - Alex Kovalev
x - Saku Koivu - Sergei Kostitsyn
Chris Higgins - Kyle Chipchura - Guillaume Latendresse
Steve Begin - Maxim Lapierre - Tom Kostopoulos

Andrei Markov - Mike Komisarek
Roman Hamrlik - Ryan O'Byrne
Josh Gorges - Francis Bouillon

Carey Price
Jaroslav Halak

NEEDS:

- One impact forward. Not necessarily a star player but someone you can put on any lines and you know he'll do the work. A solid two-way guy, big body who can chip in 20 goals and is a playoff warrior would be nice. RJ Umberger/Mike Knuble-style. Could play with Koivu and we could have three great scoring lines.

- Depth forward and dman. Someone with a lot of cup experience that you know can do a solid work defensively. No need to throw the bank at a 13th forward or 7th defenceman since we have a lot of quality kids in Hamilton.

HAMILTON

Max Pacioretty - Ben Maxwell - Matt D'Agostini
Brock Trotter - David Desharnais - James Wyman
Greg Stewart - Ryan White - Thomas Beauregard
Olivier Latendresse - Mathieu Aubin - Jimmy Bonneau
*Ryan Russell

Pavel Valentenko - Mathieu Carle
Marvin Degon - Yan Weber
Cam Cepek - Conrad Martin

Cedrick Desjardins
Loic Lacasse

NEEDS:

- Bring in some solid veterans on the blueline and one good vet in net. The forwards are extremely un-experienced but very talentend. A vet coud be needed in there.

Agree with the above assessment. Two guys I would target are:

David Legwand - play on that second line
Matt Bradley - some grit on that 4th line to replace Begin

I totally agree, he's the best option available through UFA to add to our 2nd line.

The guy I would just love on our team would be Brendan Morrow, maybe Gainey can get Dallas to give Morrow for a discount as he hooked them up with Ribeiro and Robidas.

Legwards a center, we need a winger for the 2nd line.

Also we have Stewart who can possibly make our 4th line.
