How much to keep Nedved? Stan Fischler says...

Stan Fischler said a little blurb on Fox Sports.com that to keep Petr Nedved the Oilers would have to cough up $7 million over two years.

Thoughts?

sounds about right along what we were all expecting... 3-3.5 mil/season.

No problem with that for a top line center

I'd gladly see it done - heck, anything that isn't flirting with 8 for two years is fine with me (but if it meant 8 for two years to keep him or not keep him, I'd probably say give him the 8 too )

how about $9.5 mil over three?

Regardless, I don't think I've ever seen "$7 million" and "sounds about right" in an Oilers thread. Its refreshing.

2 years @ ~$7 mil would be solid... I was hoping for 3 years @ $10 mil., so it's pretty on par.

WAY steep, IMO.

I don't think I'd be willing to spend much more than 3 mil to get Nedved signed before UFA season hits, MAYBE 3.5 if I don't think I'll be able to sign any of the other guys but I'd still take my chances.

Great news, I thought we were looking at shelling out quite a bit more than that. If they can get him at that, I say do it. He will dissapear at times next season, but overall it'll be worth it.
