This is probably the worst goaltending Ive seen in the post season since I started watching hockey. Just sad.. The fowards and Defencemans are playing a great game, what a shame..
That's the bottom line. Our team deserves to win and they would have won this series with decent (not even great) goaltending. At the same time, I feel bad for Price as he's so young and this is going to hurt a lot. I guess life sucks sometimes.
I have no regret that we traded Huet away, and I'm confident Price will rebound next season, but he's sucked for a long while in the playoffs now. Which is understandable since he's only 20 years old. But people thinking the fault is not on Price aren't watching the same games I have.
Im not saying Price isnt to blame.
He definatly factors in, but you win as a team, you lose as a team.
we score more goals then we have and we win no?
Umberger has almost more goals then our entire team in this series
For all you say we were dominating, the Flyers created all those chances, and the D did nothing to help.
The first 2 in the 2nd period weren't even on scoring chances. This is almost a carbon copy of that washington game where he got sent down from the minors. He gave up 5 softies in that game and we lost because of it.
how many times has a defencemen ****ed up this year and it cost us a game?
how many times has a forward done the same thing?
Our forwards have missed many, many chances this game and our defence stood around and did **** all on the last 2 goals.
If our forwards were actually hitting the net we could've been up 5-1 easily, instead Philly gains the momentum and now we're behind. Once again Price hasn't been great but this game should've been out of reach for Philly already yet our WHOLE TEAM let them back in and they are now ahead.
I don't understand all the hate for Price. He wasn't weak on any goal they scored...
Umberger somehow finds a way to touch it on the rebound while on the ground
Mike Richards deflects it with his hand
Umberger somehow finds the smallest hole from behind the net (horseshoe up his ass)
Hartnell with a perfect shot that hits the inside of the post to go in
All the lucky bounces are still going the Flyers way...it's really frustrating to watch
I have no shame saying the Habs have been controlling the play for much of the series and should be ahead right now and I don't see what the big overraction from most fans is all about.
Seriously get a ****ing grip of yourself and stop trying to find a scapegoat when there isn't one.
All of you fair weather fans complaining about Price and Gainey et al can go straight to hell, we dont' need you as hab fans so **** off. We've had a crap load of bad breaks and that call on he Richards goal is laughable I'd like to see the logic behind it. So leave Price alone he'll be fine and truly get a frickin life don't blame bad luck on him. 4 Goals tonight:
One unbelievable effort by Umberger on the first goal and ya a bit lucky.
The finger of god (shoulder my ass)
Non call on a slash Umberger goal
BAD GOAL and yes HE"S rattled
The Flyer are putting the puck anywhere near the net and hoping in hits a foot, glove, finger whatever. IT"S LUCK
They started whiffing on easy saves and wraparounds...when your goalie starts giving up weak goals it cuts your legs out.
Exactly. Why don't people understand that is beyond me. Your goalie making saves is the biggest part of winning in hockey. As much as people like to say it's team sport and it is, goalies need to come up with the routine saves and sometimes also save the team's bacon. That's their job. The team has played as good a game as you can expect in front of Price and the results is 4-3 flyers after two and it's all on Price's shoulders. Gotta face reality here.
Now talks about having made a mistake trading Huet are lame, and talks about signing Huet this off season are completely ridiculous. But gotta see the facts that Price has sucked in these series and is the reason we're down 3-1 in the series and 4-3 in this game.
