Any comparison to Roy and Dryden are unfair. Period. They won at a time that the team was not expected to beat the odds, they came out of relative obscurity to win (Both were not nearly as hyped up at the time as Price is now), and as Canadiens fans, we have played it up (deservedly so) and made it a big part of the team's near-100 year folklore.

Any way you cut it, the Stanley Cup is the hardest championship to win in sports and the game is faster, tougher and more skilled than it ever has been.

Price did very well in his first season and will grow well in his role. He had some growing pains, but so did a lot of other great goalies not named Roy or Dryden.

Cudos to Price 'cause he did the best he could with what he received and the time he had.

He wasn't the one who put himself in that position.

Let's hope he'll learn from this.

Price played like a rookie. He had little composure in this series, as his puck handling demonstrated. He did not play well, HOWEVER, management put him in this spot. Management must shoulder the blame.

I wish we had Huet. Nothing wrong with Price, but when he lets in one bad goal, he stops playing.

Mehh... Dissapointed ? Yess

Frustrated the Habs got beat by the Flyers ?! Yessss

Price Fault ?! Yes, but not 100%... but he didn't help this team...

Bob Gainey shouldn't traded Huet first of all. I blame management for that... Yes Bob Gainey, you miss the boat for the 100000th times... Putting all the pressure on the a 20 years old kid was just pure suicide from the begining...

Happy with the regular season? Great!

Happy with the playoff performance? Sad.

Better luck every year.

Better to have Price struggle now without a safety net, than next season or the season after when the pressure to win a Cup is even greater.

Exactly man, the pressure of being the next Roy or Dryden to win the Cup in his rookie season was unfair. The kid didn't even play a full season yet, and any NHL goalie has a lot to learn. Cam Ward won the Cup as a rookie, but I'd take Price over him any day.

If Price turns out to be half the goalie Dryden or Roy was, Montreal will be set in net for years to come. Here in Edmonton we have 23 year old goalies who haven't played an NHL game and are still considered "prospects".

Price's development will just improve over the years. He will win the Vezina a few times, and good on the fans to stick in his corner when the chips were down tonight.

Blame Don Waddell. If Atlanta doesn't back out of that deal that had Hedberg coming to Montreal then Carey Price would have had a pressure release valve and a calming presence behind him on the bench as opposed to another hungry rookie who wants the net.

With that said, don't let the haters get you down. Carey Price is going to be an amazing goaltender and a good one as soon as next season. They need to sign a veteran to back him up and provide some much needed insight and calming presence but he's not going to need that for long. Montreal has a top of the league starter on their hands and they just have to make sure that they give him time to grow into the player that he can be. If this kid is worth having, and from all accounts he is going to be, then he'll take this disappointment and let it fire him up for the puck drop in October.

Kudos Carey Price. He should not be getting blame for this series. Even without that, he had a great regular season, and for that alone, you Habs fans should be excited about the future with this guy in net.

That's what I was discussing with my friends. If the Flyers won the series, Price was still going to gain a hell of a lot of needed experience. He should be an amazing goalie in a year or two.

Carey's got an extremely bright future with the team, and he really has helped in bringing the CH back to a high level. This was great experience for the kid, and i am sure he's going to learn from this year, and improve. Tremendous job!

This guy is going to be a great goalie for a long time in the NHL. Yes, he had some difficulties in the playoffs, but it will only aid him for the future. Look at Fleury, last year in the playoffs he was not good for Pittsburgh but he took the experince and he used it for this year. Carey could do the exact same thing. He should be proud with what he has accomphiled this year.

even though we lost to Philly, i think we had a great season and we should be happy for them nevertheless.

Carey must been running on Indian time for some off the playoffs. He was there physically but not mentally at the start of the games.

Tonight Carey made me so proud. Imagine that (again) lucky 5th goal had not gone in and we won, he would be up there in the 3 stars, saving our ass. He did handle the pressure, but as we all know this whole "luck" factor was so unbelievably against us, there is not much more he could do. I've cooled down a bit so I can take a look back and feel happy about the season and truly glad that I get to brag that I have Carey Price on my team. I'm wearing my 31 shirt on Monday (and I go to school in Ontario) cuz i'm proud of this kid and i'm proud of the CH.

Sorry if slightly off topic but kudos to the fans at the arena............

The potential final game of the season; the rookie goalie scre*s up an easy shot - the fans backed Price 100%........
