Lats Non Goal

this is ****ing ridiculous, we would have won the series if they allowed lats goal.

flyers push the net off to win the series, and richards gloves one in for the win, this is ridiculous and must be fixed, the refs are killing me!

cost the habs millions in playoff revenue. NHL = god awful

I wondered how the net came off, but whatev.

If they had deserved to win, they would have played better defensively and Price would have stopped the cheap shots. The officials weren't good but they're hardly to blame.

Lats' "goal" hit the crossbar, so i don't see how it's relevant. I don't think you can blame that as the reason the Habs lost the series.

As for Richards goal, it was fine, he didn't do anything illegal.

Net came off when a Flyer (I think Richards?) crashed into it well after the puck had clanged off wide.

What's done is done... No use complaining about it now.

Time to focus on next season.

If Lats puts that one inch lower, it would get in before the net came off. The net comming off had nothing to do with the no goal--the fact that he rung it off the iron does.

What was our final posts total anyways? 8 or 9?

EDIT: I also want to add that it was a major heads up play by him to stop and let the sliding D-man pass before shooting. Hopefully a sign of more from him in the future.

Yes, Let's blame those Refs for the crossbar hit too now...
Lat's never scored....

And the goal off the glove, look they know the rules better then any of us here, they consulted with Toronto who verified the replays in different angles, and concluded that it was a legit goal. Trust me, i argued it at 1st as well, but gotta live with it.

The refs are not at fault for our loss. They were bad, but they are far from the reason we lost.

They could not allow a goal that never went in...Lats shoot it 2 inches lower, there is a good chance we win this game. But with our luck we had, it hit the crossbar.

With a little better goaltending and better finishing, Montreal would have won that serie easily. They did not get that, Flyers score on every chance they get and they even score when they have no chance. What can you do?

Puck hit the post before the net was dislodged. If that shot was 1 inch lower it would have gone in before the net was dislodged, but it didn't. And the fact that the net went off is irrelevant because the shot was never poised to go in anyways

I still haven't seen a replay of this; i thought it was in on my initial viewing, i thought it was like the Filpulla goal vs Preds.... But I trust both the posters on this board and the replay crew which has the ability to call down and stop the refs if they want to review something, and they didnt.

I'm sure it was another post for us.

What did we hit this game; 3 more??

06/07 Kovalev was the post machine. 07/08 He became our scoring machine.

07/08 playoffs, Habs were the post machines. 08/09 playoffs, Habs will become...

It was. The RDS replay was very clear.

Something absolutely ridiculous like that. Meanwhile, can you recall how many Flyer shots hit the post -- and then went out, rather than in? I don't think they had as many in the entire series as Montreal has had in any one of the last four games.

The number of scoring chances that Montreal has been generating only to not get that inch or bounce that would've made it go in is staggering. Opportunistic Flyers or not, Montreal has played well enough to win all of the last four games.

One thing for sure... Like Latendresse mentioned during his post-game interview: "Je vais m'en souvenir pendant tout l'été".

Tender Willie shot the puck so hard that he knocked the net off its moorings. Should get a half goal for that kinda feat.

I think Ovechkin still holds the record for posts per game.

During the seven game span where Ovechkin scored no goals, he hit 13 posts, including 4 in one night.

Are you saying Richards deliberately deflected a shot with his fingertip into the net intentionally?

At that speed?

...off his fingertip???

C'mon dude. He simply tried to catch it and missed, got lucky and it went in.

If 1/2 the pucks that hit Birons posts went in, whole different series. But they didn't...for whatever reason.

Excuses, excuses...and it helps if the puck went in the net! It went off the crossbar.
