Zednik to the World Cup

Richard Zednik was named to the Slovak World Cup team today

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=84479

They have a very high powered offensive team and could surprise some people. They are weak on the back end only Chara and Strbak being dominating defensively. And they are in Canada's group so we will see a lot of Zednik. I will be cheering for the Slovaks against the other teams, they are going to be a fun bunch to watch.

That team looks very good indeed, except on D as you noted Tuggy. Another question will be goaltending.

Saw on RDS.ca that the slovakian team has been named, strangely they speak nothing of Zednik going...

Do you think they would have mentionned Ribeiro if he'd been selected to the canadian team?

Hopefully Bondra and Gaborik will peak out a little more skill than what they did this year.

The offence is very dangerous, i agree!
The team who will win must have good defence/goalie as well. That's where Canada is unbeatable, on NHL Rink

Gaborik started slowly, and thats understandable because he missed the training camp and almost half of the season. At the end though, he was back to his old shape.

man, i don't see zednik playing any higher than the 4th line. maybe the 3rd, i guess. palffy, satan, hossa, gaborik, bondra, and nagy are all there as wingers. yikes. loubby visnovsky is a good d-man as well. he was murray's main man this past year in LA before getting injured against edmonton. that's a HUGE d though. chara, majesky and mezei... yikes.

lasak's been good in international play in net, but this is NHL rinks... hard to tell with him. he's their biggest question mark, no doubt.
