BUT, as there's nothing predictable in a draft, you have to take some risks, and him having the Habs as his favorite team might be exactly what he need to turn things around.

Who knows, he might become the next Olli Jokinen or the next Chris Gratton...
Olli Jokinen is not the best comparison to be fair...

More of a Jeff Carter type of player.

Well Timmins said a while ago he didn't mind attitude issues (concerning Beach), so who knows.

Thanks for the insight.

Gainey and Co. are always slow at doing things. So it doesn't surprise me that they haven't spoken to him personally yet.

IMO, Getzlaf is the best comparison. Same type of player in junior, same "attitude problems", and we all know how Getzlaf has turned out.

It surprises me. Didn't Timmins visit PK Subban in his actual home?

Beach is not even close to Getzlaf playmaking abilities, hands, and hockey sense.

But he's a better skater and goal scorer.

Beach does not have the numbers Ryan did in the WHL.

If the Habs want a goal scorer at centre, get Eberle. Sure he's smaller but he's a good player.

He did, I can't remember when. But I don't think it was more than a month before the draft.

I'm just saying that there is still time to talk with him, if Gainey Co. decide they want to trade up to get him.

I believe they did visit Subbans actual home. I wasn't that surprised when he told me he hasn't talked to Montreal yet, Gainey and Timmins are pretty high on the character of the players they draft.

Exactly, if you are looking for a centre, forget about Beach, he'll be converted to the wings.

I like Eberle a lot, but if we can get Beach for cheap I prefer his package over Eberle's.

We don't need more perimeter players, but more players willing to get dirty.

Eberle is more of a perimeter player than a guy with a nose for the net.

Voted no...I think Deschamps or even Sauve will be a better player than Beach.

Latendresse plus the first rounder? Chipchura plus the first rounder? Maxwell plus Fischer plus the first rounder?

Giving up way too much for Beach.

Look, we all know you hate Latendresse with passion, but Get the **** over it. He won't be traded at 20 years old. Powerforwards always take a while to develop. We'll see what the powerskating lessons will do to him at the next training camp.

The 1st 2 options would be a little high IMO. But I would be more than happy to do the 3rd option.

Seriously? Maxwell (former 2nd round pick), fischer (former 1st round pick), AND a first round pick?

Considering that the latters will most likely pan out one day (well who knows for Fischer), it's giving up a lot for Beach.

Please trade up ahead of Toronto and take him, so our GM doesn't .

He's falling fast, we won't need to trade up far to get him...

I would do it.

the laugh is a little bit more difficult to discern. It wouldn't be the first time someone was laughing at me lol. now the would have been very concise.

It's due to his style of play. He's going to have to tone it down a bit at the NHL level if he don't want to become another Lindros but i'm not worried about him. Physical play is part of his game.

And he can skate. He's not Ovechkin but he still has OK speed for a guy of his size. I think that he's actually faster than Chipchura.

Do you have something personal against BG? Does he get any credit for putting together the Eastern championship team?

Beach is the ideal candidate to slide on draft day.

Sounds a lot like Brule. Yeah, he's 6'3, but his injury history is even worse and I won't talk about his character.

Trading up shouldn't be necessary. If he goes before our pick, that's fine. I'm sure there are going to be plenty of other good players that Timmins has his eye on.
