Dude. The body is still warm!
Plus that would take up too much cap room.

He mentioned after the miracle 6-5 comeback victory of the Habs against the Rangers that we wouldn't mind playing for a Canadian team. Only thing is I don't think him and Kovalev have the chemistry it takes. I think he would create a lot more space for Koivu though

Jagr and Kovalev actually have tremendous chemistry.

I think when looking at our top 2 lines, it would be wiser putting Jagr alongside Koivu than on the same line as Kovalev. We have seen this year that Kovalev likes to be the go to guy on that line. He wants to puck. We've been saying since the past dozen or so years that Koivu has pretty much played his entire NHL career without any elite linemates. How many times have we said, if Koivu played with so and so, he wouldn't be considered a second line center ? We would be able to create a line with Jagr-Koivu-Kost Jr...and we can put less pressure on Higgins by placing him on a 3rd line where he might feel a bit more comfortable

Jagr isn't what he used to be. I wouldn't try to sign him if I were the Habs.

Oh definately, but my point was on the same team, and more specifically on the pp they are more than capable of co-existing.

Personally, if Higgins is put on the 3rd line, I could see the guy becoming one of the best shutdown player in the league. He's a fast skater who's pretty good defensively with some offensive skills.

Yes, Jagr won't be a 120 point/50 goal guy, but he is still better than anybody else on the team.

Even if he isn't the same player he used to be, he's still better than all of our wingers. The guy puts up a more than a point a game each season (this one excluded). If he would have had a healthy center man, he would've amassed 90+ points without a doubt...Also for the Rangers Organization, if you know Jagr plays best with Nylander, why did they trying Gomez and Drury over the offseason? Why not one of the two + Nylander?

P.S. - Go look who has the most points in the playoffs and leading the NHL with 15...Just go check.

Rolston or Huselius would be better choices I think. Nothing against jagr.

i don't think he'd play anywhere else than NY anyway

Lest we forget, he's already played for the Capitals and the Penguins, he mentioned this year he wouldn't mind playing for a Canadian team. If Ryan Smyth could sign for a team others than the Oilers, why can't a Euro like Jagr who already has all the money in the world sign for another team either?
