Thanks for the memories

It's been a nice run, Wildcatters, of a few years... Thanks so much for the memories. Saddens me that we couldn't continue on in the playoffs, but as I had noticed that the Club just wasn't the same as mid-season in recent weeks so this doesn't come as a surprise. I'm sad though that my days of running over to B-town for a game or two is over.

I thought this was going to be about G. Fleming.

It was a great year for the Wildcatters indeed. As a Cyclones fan, it was fun watching them as the "other" best team in the league all season. Was really looking forward to possibly meeting them in the Semifinals, it was a shame to see them go down. It's a shame they couldn't get attendance figured it. I talked to a lot of fans of theirs this season and it seems that the owners simply didn't care about doing anything about the team.

It's a shame but I cannot blame the league for pulling the plug on a team that couldn't get more than 1500 on consistently weekend games. I would have hated to see their numbers if they had the same kind of mix of weeknight games that the Cyclones also had, but I normally only saw them having home games on Fri/Sat nights.

The league didn't pull the plug. The lease ran out and the ownership transferred to Ontario.

I know what really happened, I was just figuratively speaking on the "pulling the plug" comment in relation to their attendance woes.

Yeah, that situation is/was sad. What's even sadder is their attendance isn't good enough for the SPHL but their fans think it is. The fans they have love hockey and want it badly. It doesn't seem like the team was marketed too well despite having a great product.
