Their style of play right now ; both useless if they can't score any goals.

If so....thats good....I hated playing the same teams 8 times, especially since there are no more divisional playoffs....makes more sense to play the other teams in the conference a couple more times.

Prediction: Ryder goes somewhere where he is wanted, plays with a good play making centre, scores 30+ goals

Look at what happened with Kovy, people often forget to call an off year an off year.
Almost no one remembers but 2 seasons ago Kovy averaged more or less a point a game!

Ryder will regroup and come back to haunt the Habs if he plays in the East

I think Ryder is a Boston Bruin or a Dallas Star in 2008-2009.

Boston, obviously because of the Julien factor and his success with Claude. Plus the fact the Bruins are looking for goal scoring.

Dallas, the rumors were strong that Dallas was looking for a RW and Ryder was a name that kept popping up. Has chemistry with Ribs from previous days as linemates and with Morrow being a LW it makes sense to have a sniper on the RW alongside a playmaking centre and gritty hard working power forward in Morrow. Hull knows that Ryder is a sniper and he played a similar game and had to learn the defensive end of the game and did so in Dallas. Ryder has learned the defensive game and would benefit from playing with a mature Ribs and a leader in Morrow.

Dark horse possibilities?

Calgary, reason being he will come cheaper than Huselius, 3 years younger than him and the possibilty of playing with his brother is a plus to him and the Flames as well. Another factor in Calgary, the next top RW after Iginla is Nolan...so Ryder would be a given on the top 2 lines.

If you look at Ryder's career stats in the Western Conference he is almost a PPG player.

He is done is Montreal, that much is sure...I'm guessing a offer won't be made to Michael, and if one was I'm sure he and his agent aren't willing to even entertain an offer from the Habs.

I am not too worried about Ryder and even less worried about the Bruins. He will probably be better next year but it wont be drastic.

Or becomes a Zednik no2 and we don't care anymore about him, except if he gets a freak injury...

Ryder can only score 30 goals and 50pts with an elite center... maybe Savard would help him get back to that 30-20-50 mark... as I wrote earlier, I'd be happy with that and a lot less with 40-50-90 that Hossa could give them...

There's not a team in the league that wouldn't mind his 100 goals over 4 season.... ok...99 goals.

Except the Habs

I could see him signing with Toronto or Boston as a nice little **** you to the Habs. He's pissed off, and would jump at the opportunity to beat us frequently.

Thoughts???? (Please leave the Ryder bashing at the door)

Yes, of course there's a possibility. Among other things, Boston is the American NHL city geographically closest to Newfoundland.

Even in his rookie year with a Rib's who was only producing 65 points per he was getting more than that, and with Koivu and a mix of other linemates he still managed two 30 goal seasons.

2003-04 Montreal Canadiens NHL 81 25 38 63
2005-06 Montreal Canadiens NHL 81 30 25 55
2006-07 Montreal Canadiens NHL 82 30 28 58

With a #1 centre and PP an 15-18 minutes per game he'll get 30 + and he'll probably match in assists too.

Hossa won't give Montreal 40 - 50 - 90...he doesn't have the centre to play with there.

I don'T care. Even when he was scoring 30 goals nobody could stand him. Most useless guy ever.

Just the fans or so called "fans", he was liked and appreciated by his teammates...I could roll out a few names on this team that are useless compared to Ryder.

Since it isn't Carbo coaching he will get played properly and with the right linemates and in the right situations...he will go to a system where they want him to score.
