I was thinking something might be up with his glove hand, maybe even an arm/shoulder injury.

Can you imagine if he was playing with a broken hand?

I can't wait to watch this guy play a whole season next year, it's gonna be great!

This just in, his illness causes temporary paralysis for about 3 minutes or so.

Or the coaching staff knew he was hurt and played him anyway because they believed in Price so much that they thought he could get it done regardless, or because it was more important to give him the playoff experience.

From the interviews that I've seen/read of Price after the last game. He seems to have the right frame of mind. I actually like his comment of not looking at his equipment for 3 months.

I think he'll take this summer to relax and reflect a little on his mistakes. Some rookies I would be afraid after watching them suffer like this. But Price gives off a maturity that I haven't seen too often before. IMO he is going to bounce back no sweat.

my guess would be it occured in was it game 2 or 3 when one of Philly's players hit Carey Price on the wrist and then scored a second later...

Not only should the goal not have counted but there should have been a penalty on the play....kinda ironic that potentially the "turning point" of the series is on an injury which should have been penalised but was not and that was the turning point against the canes a few years ago (Koivu's eye injury).

Figures...

I think it was before that. It could have been a multitude of things. Could have been hurt sliding over on Savard's OT goal way back in game 3. The chop you mentioned or Downie's trip or just the repetitive up and down that comes with playing so many games.

Gainey He should have known Huet wouldn't have been injured in game 2. Seriously, what a mistake that trade turned out to be...

I'm actually not surprised he was playing injured. I hope he takes it easy this summer (shoots bears or whatever) and comes back well rested mentally and physically. I can't wait to see how hot he's going to get next year.

More evidence to address the veteran backup issue that this team needs. We have to let Halak go.

Maybe he was playing with a broken spine!

What a trooper.

Indeed, I'm glad someone from Edmonton could recognize how much of a trooper he is.

By the way, this isn't the Oilers board.

Now that I think about it, it would be really tough playing goal with spike holes through both hands and both feet.

I think that slash has to be it. I don't recall his glove hand being so bad in game 1 & 2. They probably won't go into it in detail because the Flyers are still in it and they don't want to seem unclassy.

Then sit your ass on the bench and go with Halak.

You can't possibly tell me that an injured/shaken Price was better than Halak in the second round.

i was thinking arm/shoulder as well personally.. to me it just seemed like his arm and his shoulder were lower then i remember it in the bruins series.

Quite the keen observation, you should really use those powers you have for the greater good!

I knew it! If someone finds this in english, please post it. Some of my co-workers and I were discussing the Habs and one guy said that Price wouldn't bounce back and was done for the season. I of course argued with him and said that he would come back stronger in the next game, unless of course he was injured (which I had a hunch) and he laughed at me! I can't wait to print that off and tape it to his monitor!

By the same token you can't tell me that Halak was lights-out in game 4 or gave any indication that he'd be the answer.

Exactly.... I think his finger or hand was broken by the game 2 slash.

He was using his practice glove, because (supposedly the old one was too flimsy) he didn't have enough time to break in the new one, at least that's the reason that was given.

I know lies and misdirection about injuries are a huge part of the playoffs, but if he was indeed hurt, then why did he play? and why wouldn't he just come clean now?

There's no way that Carbo didn't know about it. That's just crazy.
