as an impartial third party who watched all your playoff games (I love Price) - you guys desperately need some players in your top 6 that are willing to pay the price and score dirty goals.
Let's get Avery and Commodore. That should help with the grit and toughness.
If there is some money left depending on our RFAs, UFAs (I hope Ryder, Smoke go and streit if he is too greedy, if not I'd love to keep him) let's try to get ourselves a Jagr, a Rolston or a Shanahan that would be less expensive than a hossa( wich would be ideal). That should do it
Let's get rid of Dandy by a trade, buyout, waivers or AHL. Any way!!! This guy is a useless 1.7m$ player. I'd prefer him in the AHL before buying him out though. Streit will have to take a discount and a good one to stay. give him dandy's salary. Not a penny more.
edit: i saw the post below mine and I'd add Ryan Malone to the list. I just forgot him.

Ryan Malone perhaps??
Thank you, guess we needed a PITT fan to say it, and IMO that's where most are wrong, while the Laraque, Ruutu and other 3rd/4th liners like them are good depth to have... willing to pay the price and all... they're not the one who will spend time on the 1st or 2nd line or on the PP... and since theses are the lines who'll score the most goals... maybe that's where we want to add that much needed gritt
Brian Rolston is my dream for now. He spent few days with injusries despite his not-young age. He's solid scorer.
Also I'd like to see Chris Kelly, he can strength our PK unit. Also he has some potential as a scorer and able to play not only in center.
Hossa (go for him, though, no more than $7 mil per) Brunnstrom (probably too big of a gamble for the $ he'll get) Selanne (doubt it, but him and Koivu have experience together) Rolston (consistent, gritty winger, 30 goal scorer) Huselius (decent goal scoring winger) Naslund (on the decline, but can still score goals) Avery (will he really come to this city after having dissed French-Canadians? It would be great, but expect at least $3-4 mil per) Shanahan (didnt want to come last year, I doubt he will this year, unless he sees us as a winner now)
realistic:
Holik (gritty 3rd line centre, THE GUY IN FRONT OF THE NET we need) Peca (leadership, experience, 3rd line centre = perfect!) Vrbata (great breakout season in Phoenix with 27 G, could score 30+ with Koivu) Malone (big winger, but may be a bust outside of Malkin's line) Cooke (hard-nosed winger)

Sundin is an interesting thought, I would take him for sure.
Hossa definiely, but he is the prized UFA in a shallow crop, the price will be high.
Rolston is the one I want. Forget about resigning Streit and use some of that money for Rolston. He is a top 6 forward and could easily replace Streit on the point on the powerplay.
