OT: Baseball fan kills another baseball fan

Yankees fan accused of running down and killing Red Sox heckler

Quote:
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) -- A woman accused of running down a man in her car after a Red Sox-Yankees argument in a bar never hit her brakes as she accelerated toward the small group he was in, a prosecutor said Monday.

"She never braked, and she accelerated at a high speed for about 200 feet. She went directly at this group of people," prosecutor Susan Morrell said of Ivonne Hernandez, who is charged with reckless second-degree murder in the death early Friday of Matthew Beaudoin, 29.

Authorities won't describe the argument beforehand in Slade's Food & Spirits, but witnesses said it heated up when Hernandez identified herself as a New York Yankees fan. Like the rest of New Hampshire, Nashua, 45 miles northwest of Boston, is Red Sox country.

Very sad to hear about

Mod Edit: Deleted. One random act doesn't an entire fan base define. You guys know that.

That's insane in the membrane!

Everybody's done things they regret after a hard night of drinking, but this takes the cake.

Same thing happened in Cornwall a few years ago. Happened to someone we vaguely knew. Bunch of people in a bar, arguement moved outside, woman drove at some people, probably to intimadate, clipped a woman and she died. Woman was married to a kid we know. Stupid on all sides but she's dead.

It's not sports it's not the US, it's what happens when alcohol gets consumed excessively and the people consuming it don't have a good idea of limits.

9 out of 10 times when we hear about an athlete or celebrity getting in trouble, the phrase 'outside of a club' gets used.

Didn't Olympic Swimming medalist Victor Davis die under similar circumstances?

Yeah, exactly the same, outside a club in Ste.Anne De Bellevue, I think.

I really wonder what instinct tells them driving into a crowd of people is a good idea.

It's weird that he came to mind while I was reading the article.

Probably the same one that told them at yet another drink would be a good idea.

So, you really are risking your life by going to Yankee stadium.

Hopefully she gets the next 25years to think about her actions!

American punishment >>>>>> Canadian "punishment"

If this happened in Canada she would get less than 5 years.

Y'know... We say that, and yet you have an avatar proclaiming your love for a game where the chief (only) goal is stealing cars and killing people.

I think it's just New York in general.

I don't know... Higgins doesn't seem like a homicidal maniac, and I think Komisarek tries to keep it on the ice

You do realize that video games aren't real, right?
