Gainey quote, "Do we have to get bigger and tougher?, perhaps".

Huh?

I understand that we're build on speed and skill but a little size and grit can't hurt. And obviously, when people talk about getting some size and grit, we don't want some slow guys either.....

Anyway, chances are Bob will understand what is missing when a guy like Pacioretty will make it. Then he'll realize that this is exactly what was missing.
Gainey should see that Armstrong (before the firing) built a good fast and strong Dallas team after he left, look at what they are doing in these playoffs in knocking off the defending champs and one of the favorites to win it in San Jose as well.

I have watched the Dallas series(s) and I cannot believe the speed that these games are played at and the intesity as well...the Montreal series(s) were boring and slow compared to these!!!

Did I understand Carbo correctly talking to Chantal ? He said that he heard that there wasn't place in the room for Saku and Alex, but he'd love to fit another just like them into the room. If I understood his sentiment, I guess another question's been answered.

Because he wants a 3rd guy like them, you forgot to add that...

I think he meant that, but I miss nuance in French at times, sometimes I fake laugh, pretending I get the jokes.

His line of thought was: "I heard what these guys are saying about Koivu and Kovalev and we might as well make the room bigger because if it was just me, I'd add a third guy just like them".

In other words, denying that there is any problem and seems satisfied with both.

Red Fischer: Have you thought of giving a new deal for Carbo?
Gainey: All our staff is under contract except for 2 pro scouts... we'll evaluate everyone else when the time comes, right now we need to look at those with expiring contracts first.
Carbo: Only you Red.

thanks.

You know sometimes when a Koivu for example returns to the bench and a Carbo yells at him about picking up the trailer, or getting the puck deep, and Koivu ignores him because he knows or he's thinking about next shift, it means that the people involved are proud professionals that react in the moment. Just a hypothetical but an example of how natural progression can be made into something it's not.

Kazan is rumored to have offered 4mill per year for him to jump....

Whether it is true.... What bob will offer.... and if he wants to leave.... is unknown.

I heard Datysuk is being offered $14M a season in RSL next season and gets to ride around in Putin's private, bullet-proof limo. How you guys going to replace him?

A.Kost denied that rumour.

source: Journal de Montréal.

the question is: Is Le Journal de Montréal reliable? -not that much.

So good news:

- Montreal is one of only 3 teams that Brunnstrom visited with.
- Gainey will try to acquire an impact forward.
- Gainey feels Andrei Kostitsyn is happy here and isn't too concerned about an RSL offer.
- Gainey will consider talking to guys like Koivu, Kovalev, and Komisarek during the season next year; not negotiating during the season is not a hard rule.
- Carbo denies any Kovy/Koivu dressing room problems.

Bad news:

- Responding to a question about Alexei Emelin, Gainey asks "the defenseman?" Gainey . But he doesn't seem optimistic about signing him this summer as he states that he's still under contract for a year.

Other:
- Carbo's tie will be auctioned, not sure where yet, with money going to a charity for kids; but don't worry, he received like 400 ties in the mail from fans.
- Gainey talked contract with Streit back in November, though for different reasons, nothing was agreed upon.
- Brisebois, Smolinski, and the other FAs will be evaluated by management in the next couple of weeks.
- Ryder worked hard to get back in the line-up, but "our team was better without him."

Select "Entrevue exclusive avec Guy Carbonneau".

Everybody in the team is finding it ridiculous that there is no room for Koivu and Kovy. Carbo said "Gainey, make the room bigger, I want another one like them!".
