When you think of all the horrible movies made about superheroes over the years:

Batman post batman returns (and somewhat even the first 2)
GhostRider (Most piss poor comic book to movie of all time practically)
Daredevil (yuck)
Spiderman 3 (yuck)
X-Men 3 (dissapointing)
The Hulk (remake looks like it might be good, but the movie NEEDS A REMAKE, nuff said)
Fantastic Four (let's face it, the first one sucked too)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (sucked)

Now lets look at which ones were average or above average:

The Punisher (sleeper hit imo)
Spiderman 1 + 2
X-Men 1 + 2
Sin City
300
Ironman

I know I'm forgetting one or two here or there, but it looks like any comic book movie there is a 33% to 50% chance of it being anywhere from average to great, that having been said, MARVEL SPECIFIC ones seem to be more in the 33% area. Personally me, I'm not a big fan of 300 but many people are so I added it to the list.

Batman post batman returns (and somewhat even the first 2) pretty much agree
GhostRider (Most piss poor comic book to movie of all time practically) ok imo better then Elektra
Daredevil (yuck) wife likes it I am so-so
Spiderman 3 (yuck) also nothing special
X-Men 3 (dissapointing) was ok but could have been more
The Hulk (remake looks like it might be good, but the movie NEEDS A REMAKE, nuff said)
Fantastic Four (let's face it, the first one sucked too)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (sucked) liked this one because of Silver Surfer only...can't wait for his movie to come out.

The Punisher (sleeper hit imo)
Spiderman 1 + 2
X-Men 1 + 2
Sin City
300
Ironman
Agree with the above, minus Sin City, but would add Hellboy which I liked.

Iron man 2 has been confirmed for April 30th 2010 along with Thor, slated to hit theatres June 4, 2010, The First Avenger: Captain America, due out May 6, 2011.
The Avengers, expected in July 2011. Ant-Man, still in development according to http://www.cbc.ca/arts/film/story/20...an-sequel.html

These two movies should not even be mentioned in the same breath as some of those other piles of garbage just because they're based on comics.

300 was based on a comic? I thought it was just Spartan tough man inspired.

The Habs should've seen that one before Game 5

They could have used a hero amongst them

It was ok but Batman Begins was much better as far as superheroes movies are concerned and i'm pretty sure that the Dark Knight will be as well.

Ironman sure as hell doesn't deserve to be in IMDB top 250 either.

Well, I haven't seen the movie. Was hoping you could fill me in. Would save me a trip to the theater.

I thought it was based on the courageous, lion-esque Ottawa Senator's dominance over the Eastern Conference only to sacrifice themselves to evil Penguins.

I heard the Senator's gladiator dude auditionned for a part in 300. Didn't even make the first cut. The idiot mentionned he was a Sens fan during the interview.

(300 was shot in Montreal...ehhehe)

Extra scene.... damn!!!! I missed that.

I agree, good pop corn flick. Way too many little kids in the audience for my tastes but I guess that is par for the course for openning weekend of a super hero movie.

Probably my favorite super hero of my childhood, along with Batman and Iron Fist!

i missed the extra scene too...wish they didnt do crap like that...i'm not going to wait until the credits are all done just to find out if a movie has an extra scene...its ridiculous.

Found out what the extra scene was from a co-worker today...had i known i probably would have waited...but as i said unless i know theres an extra scene i'm not waiting around!
