The Sabres have signed Hobey Baker finalist Nathan Gerbe to a contract. No details yet.

No brainer here, not after the season and tourney he had. Nothing really left for him in the college game.

I hope Buffalo gets the AHL uncertainty straightened out.

I take the Nate Gerbe and Chris Butler signings as an indicator of a more serious AHL relationship, most likely with sole affiliation. Rumors have it being Portland, but nothing is confirmed yet. Either way, the two signings and hopefully the signing of Tim Kennedy are going to sure up our prospect pool regardless of the AHL situation.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens.

But for me and I'm assuming many others in the Central and Western NY area, seeing Buffalo out of Rochester is just...kind of strange. I understand it, it's just weird to see.

Big time news for Hockey East. Will Colin Wilson or JVR step up and become the next premire players in the league?

Kennedy and Enroth should be on the farm next year. Anything less constitutes epic fail.

Big time news, but not really unexpected. Hobey Finalist, national champion and MVP of the Frozen Four? Nothing left for Gerbe in BC.

I spent 30 minutes last night looking through "FAIL!" pictures.

Big BC fan here. I'm really happy for Nate, hope he makes Buffalo's roster next season.

He'd be the smallest player in the NHL by two inches.

Buffalo could potentially in 2-3 years ice a team consisting of 5'9" Derek Roy, 5'6" Nathan Gerbe and 5'9" Paul Byron.
