Crazy kids, in my day, we had the Beatles or the Monkees, maybe the Dave Clark 5, none of this Ukranian hockey player prairie names.

Does the real Dale Hawerchuk know about this ?

I sure hope he does, they have a picture of one of his hockey cards on the cover, if I'm not mistaken.

Ignorance is bliss.

(That's turning into one of my favorite phrases here on HF.)

Yes he knows. When asked if he liked the song he replied "it's alright". But his son is actually a huge fan of them. I think they met him once and had their picture taken with him.

He just released something new I believe, think I read something somewhere.

He recorded in English and French didn't he ? Thanks, he had that one famous signature song and I'm going crazy trying to remember it.

Wow, stuff I didn't know would make a pretty big encyclopedia.

Mind you, I'd like to be less ignorant about it.

But everything I heard, from classics to modern, I disliked. Well, maybe except Jean Leloup, but I wouldn't say I like it.

What the hell I've got was the one I always remember him by.

I had a summer job downtown in, I'm guessing, 1973, and at lunch one day he played in that open area in Place Ville Marie, played that song, he was pretty good. Funny how you see a performance and it sticks with you.

Geez, Michel's no youngster ehh ?

Well, you're not exactly a spring chicken either (you set 'em up, I knock 'em out).

My daughter did a whole project for French class a little while ago. Kind of an interesting charaacter from what she was telling me, it seems he'd often just re-invent himself. He was one of those names I'd heard of but knew little about.

Yeah, personally, Jean Leloup/Leclerc's latest one - Mexico - is still on constant rotation. That one strikes a chord with me, both because of the sparse retro-style arrangements that remind me of Gainsbourg's Melody Nelson and his unique lyrical style. Quality stuff as far as I'm concerned.

Don't know if it could fit at the Bell Center though. Maybe the "Je Suis un Cowboy" song and associate it somehow with Cary Price.

I disliked both Mexico and La vallée des réputations (apart from Raton laveur). The others, I really liked. You must be much older than me.
