.

For all the talk about the lack of a true and legit scoring winger, I'm not sure anyone on that list fits the bill more than Hossa

Marian Hossa is a difference maker would look wicked on Gomez wong/

Rolston. Especially if Jagr does not come back.

Resign Jagr, Mara and Avery. Trade Prucha, Dawes, Sjostrom and Holly for picks only, don't want a signle prospect in return. Sign Ryan Malone, Radim Vrbata, Liles, Sauer (Yes, many of you scratch your head but works for the cap) or Orpik.

And in his first 4 years, he did have a down year, much like Ryder, except his was worse. 10 goals in 76 games. To Ryder's 14 in 70.

However, it took Huselius 5 years to reach 30 goals. Whereas it only took Ryder 2.

Huselius never repeated a 30 goal season.

Ryder has two. And only missed another one by 5.

Ryder is bigger, younger, and remains to be seen who will be cheaper. Although, comparing their contract years, Huselius may be more expensive.

I don't see how Ryder is not a better option.

It really is amazing how the ONLY THING that people look at is how Ryder had a down year in his contract season. Like that never happened in sports before to players who are highly skilled.

Also, there are players who play over their heads in contract years, and are no where near that good in the long haul and completely bust after the big contract is signed.

Ryder is the case where, he is BETTER then the year he had. And he WILL be a SOLID pickup for who ever is smart enough to sign him.
Don't disagree that Ryder is more dependable than Huselius, but I'd rather get my mits on Malone as he's a physical presence where as the other 2 are totally devoid of that aspect of their game.

The Rangers need a big wing or foward.

Avery 5'10"
Callahan 5'11"
Dawes 5'9"
Hollweg 5'11"
Prucha 6'0"
Straka 5'9"

Drury 5'10"
Gomez 5'11"

I like Jeremy Roenick, he is 6'1". JR has 10 GWG this season also.

Trade for Joel Lundqvist then pick up a shutdown d-man and wait until better offers come out next year.

NYR D = Soft as Butta

One of the needs teams overpay in UFA for is physical defensemen it seems, so I won't have much of a problem with the Rangers chasing a guy like Orpik.

Given the cap, I do not know if the Rangers can afford him. A Malone and Smith/Salvador could make more sense and cost just as much.

That is not going to do it. Prucha's value is low and Joel has been doing well, along with being on a team still running for the cup.

Malone is not overrated in terms of what we need. Good locker room guy, fights, plants in front of the net and gets dirty goals. He's also used to playing in a locker full of people like Sid, Malkin and the likes.

He is the only player on that UFA who might be ready to take his game up a notch. Nothing crazy of course, but I really really like what he brings to a team like ours: BIG ON THE WINGS! Our forwards are way to small.

Theres been rumors of Eric Cole getting shipped out of Carolina. Presumably they are looking for defensive help throughout their line up.

Dawes Gomez Cole
