Very OT: Stores that sell SNES games and/or Consoles?

I know this is totally off topic, but I've recently got the urge to play some SNES games. Yes, I know you can download emulators to play them on your computer, but I want the real deal.

So, is there any store in Montreal that sell SNES consoles and games? I know it's very doubtful that there actually is a place that sells them... but you never.

If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

EB Games, man. They usually have a basket full of SNES or NES or SEGA games.

Also, if you have a credit card, Ebay.ca is great too. Below is a link to an auction, lol.

Pawn shops. Large ones have stacks of them all for cheap.

In Saskatoon, we have more pawn shops than restaurants, and as many liquor stores as pawn shops. Coincidence? I think no.

You know you can just buy a Nintendo Wii (with the Classic controller) and download SNES games for like.. $8 or something.

I have all 3 Donkey Kongs and Super Mario World.

I know the Microplay close to Cote-Vertu metro has TONS of old console and games. But as far as I know they are MAJOR ripoffs. =[ sorry!

It's unbelievably rare. I used to have a copy, nfi where I put it. I'd buy another one but it sells for like $100.

I spent about 120$ on Wii Virtual Console games already.

But if you want the real deal, flea markets usually have loads of them. I found The 7th Saga there (very rare RPG by Enix). 5 bucks.

I loled.

What all games do you have for Virtual Console?

I have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES), Golden Axe (Sega), Golden Axe 2 (Sega), Golden Axe 3 (Sega), Blades of Steel (NES), Contra 3 (SNES), Donkey Kong (SNES), Diddy Kong (SNES), Donkey Kong 3 (forget name, SNES), Pokemon Snap (sister, N64), Super Mario World (SNES).

I think that's it right now.

There are countless amazing games not out for the VC.

I'm thinking of buying a SNES again, too. It's the best console ever, bar none. In fact, I think I have an idea for a new avatar...

Nice avatar.

But the Wii Virtual Console is gaining more and more games each week. I'm sure most notable games will be available within a few years.

Oh I didn't mean to put down the VC; they have some incredible games out for it.

But no Chrono Trigger.

A store called Idefixe (sp) near Metro Jean-Talon has lots of old games... but they know their stuff, so don't expect a great deal.

I found some games at amazing prices in pawnshops.. like Metroid, Zelda or Equinox for around 10$ each, while they're 40$+ in specialized stores.

Edit: PM me if there are some games in particular you're interested in, I have a bunch at my dad's place...

you have chorno cross, another spectacular game..

What i suggest is get a SNES disk copier, basically play any game on the SNES in disc/cd format, it's gonna be hard finding games...

I suppose you're looking for the better games too at a decent rate, do NOT go to gamezone in Verdun. It's a great place for anything but retro games on obsolete consoles. Their selection is pretty good but the prices man...40 bucks for River City Ransom what the ****?

So that's what the N. American SNES looked like. Well, maybe it is to be expected after all the time I spent playing it, but I prefer the style of the PAL version:

Ah, the memories. To think of all the hours I spent playing on that thing, especially Mario Kart and NHLPA '93. Good times. Especially playing the longest game possible on NHL after school against a friend with both goalies pulled the entire game. You can imagine the scorelines

classifieds, ebay, ebid, pawn shops, video rental stores-always selling old SNES games, craig'slist, retro game forums-will have members selling games, relatives, co-workers, saturday morning garage sales...

If you can't find a working SNES with 5 games for $50 within a few days you're not looking hard enough.

Anyway, has anyone here had success or have seen some examples of 'modded' video game systems?

Ie. turning a NES controller into a TV remote, making a coffee table NES remote that actually works, putting the SNES gear into an NES etc.?

I'm turning an old NES gun into a lamp just for shts.
