Ah, SNES.

I have the console still, but the power source doesn't work for some reason. When I do manage to get it working though, Chrono Trigger keeps me occupied for a few days.

Not sure if this game was available in North America, but if anyone is on the lookout for a fun racing game, check out Top Gear 2 if you can. Anyone else familiar with that? Had lots of fun racing around the world in that one and it was cool to be able to customise your car back then.

As for bad 'games', did anyone get to try Mario Paint or Mario History (or whatever that one was called)? Sooooo not worth it.

I'm not quite sure what the decision making process was for the various Nintendo head offices, but that design (I think) is pretty much a copy of the Japanese version that was released, which was called the Super Famicom (for Family Computer). For whatever reason, Nintendo America went with something different. Although thankfully, neither America nor Europe stuck to the name Super Famicom. To me, it sounds like the name of a really effective female contraceptive.

Mario Paint was fun...for about 15 minutes.

Famicom is condensed from 'family computer'. Worked well in Japan.

Thanks a lot guys.

I'll be checking out a few pawn shops today, and I'll be keeping in mind the prices I should be looking for.

I'll let you guys know if I have any success finding anything!

What i suggest is get a SNES disk copier, basically play any game on the SNES in disc/cd format, it's gonna be hard finding games...
No... I have Chrono Trigger.

I couldn't find Chrono Cross anywhere when I was younger.. I might get it on Ebay someday though.

YES! Top Gear 2 was (and is) amazing.

All this nostalgia is making me want to play SNES all day long now.

Top Gear 2 was probably the best game I ever played on that old thing. Along with Zelda and NHL '93.

I still play it on my emulator from time to time, LOL!

Mission Accomplished!

I picked up a SNES today along with a copy of Super Mario World. I may have gotten slightly ripped off (60$), but it's damn worth it!
