Toots loses the puck at the blueline on the PP, allowing Andrei Kostitsyn on a shorthanded breakaway... which was stopped.

At least things haven't changed much.

Everyone is allowed one bad game.

But it's not good to have it this late.

Eh, Tytutin doesn't give up breakaways from the blueline often. They usually happen because he steps up in the neutral zone at the wrong time

Article on Dubinsky from the IIHF:

Quote:
“I learned a lot this season and the most exciting thing is how much I grew as a player and as a person,” said Dubinsky about his first full season with the Rangers. “With the group of guys we had in there I was able to just soak so much up and gain so much knowledge and experience there from them.”

...

“This is my first experience at this but one thing is for certain is that it’s an honor playing for your country so you compete hard by playing a solid sixty minutes per night. I’m sure other players representing their countries feel the same.”

Hank is as splendid against Russia as everyone has come to expect.

Battling Nabby and both have been totally superb.

Because Callahan is not that great?

He's an OK player and a third line player on the Rangers.

Callahan went to Worlds last year in Moscow after the season ended. HIs equipment was lost and he never played a game because they were eliminated. This year Team USA needed a center when one got hurt which would make Dubinsky a logical choice.

Why wasn't Gomez chosen?

Haven't heard anything, but Gomez probably wanted to rest his sore ribs, rather than play more games.
