It never was sub par(average for a 17 years old), this was a scout created myth.

For what it is worth is defense game today is better than what it was when he was drafted.

He will only be turning 19 this week so he has lots of time to progress further.

I still think it is his skills that attract attention. His defense is gonna be fine placed in the right hands to develop them

Creating that myth is a good way to throw other teams off the scent and draft the kid all along.

Comparisons

Who does PK compare to offensively ( I know it is early)? Fogarty, Coffey, Housely, Chelios, Kurvers, Neidermeyer, Kaberle, Markov, Gonchar?

From what I can hear, he looks like a mix of Liles (offensive-game) and Bouillon (strenght and intensity, hits).

I think he's gonna be an excellent offensive-minded d-man with high intensity and great personnality.

His offensive game is much like Coffey's. No I am not saying he will be that good or put that many points up. But he joins the rush alot and can get around other players with techniques done usually in practice.

It's not like he's counted on to be a #1 d-man either. Even if he has some defensive deficiencies, you pair him with a McDonagh who will cover his mistakes. He's going to be paid to bring offence and toughness, which he does anyways.

Well rangers were winning 4-2 in game 4 after 2nd period. Weber is out and Belleville ties ... to win in OT. since then Belleville won everything. (we will see more tonight final game!)

So the absence of Weber corresponds exactly to the tie turning in the game. In other words ... as soon as weber is absent ... rangers loose.

That, in my view, is not a coincidence at all.

So . . . . we have apparently got two good D men instead of just one

So you havent noticed how terrible Belleville was playing before that. They turned there game on in the 3rd period and have since. Weber hurts..but not enough that it should turn the tide of the series alone. He isnt THAT good.

Kitchener transition has been a big issue lately and Weber is good at it, one of the best in the O. With Bortuzzo and Weber out and having a Forward playing on D isn6t good at all for transition and it hurted Kitchener offense alot from what i saw.

Weber it's not just a booming slapshot and a good passer on the PP he brings alot more then that. And on defense, yes he's average along the board, but one on one he's pretty effective. Not sure if he's gonna play tonight, but it sure would make a huge difference for them.

Well obviously Weber isn't THE reason why this series is tied at 3-3, but you have to admit that the coincidence is quite ridiculous. Having said that, I like to think positively, so I'm going to take this as a sign that we have 2 great young D prospects

can you draw comparisons to mike green?

Green looks like he's going to be a top 3 offensive d-man for a long time....

I guess in terms of skating and vision, they are similar. Does PK have a bullet shot? Green certainly does.

Can range from 93-98 consistently.
