Do you think he has reached his potential? He's only 26 and showed a physical side of his play as the season went on and into the playoffs.

The only thing that irks me about his play is his unwillingness to pass the puck when he is skating in the offensive zone. Who knows what he can do with the right combination on his line.

I think this contract will pay off later rather than sooner.

The thing that impressed me was the comment that let the fans have a peek at what the management is planning to do with this team, and it's quite exciting.

A couple random questions from a flyers fan who roots for you guys.

Do you guys think Cody Franson will play on the big club next year?
Do the preds have a built in cap, below the actual cap?
Is Klein still being brought along as a defenseman or is switching to forward? (I think I read that somewhere earlier in the year)

I believe Franson is a year away, from what the Admiral people have been saying
Not sure about the built in cap ... I know that the new owners want to keep the core players around
They tried Klein at forward in Milwaukee for a few games and it didn't work

In order to pass the puck, he'd first have to keep his head up. He has absolute tunnel vision when the puck is on his stick, like he's mesmerized by the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. Preds fans have been carping about this issue for years now, and it doesn't look like Erat is going to change his M.O. anytime soon.

Wilson, Jones, Pihlstrom, and Hornqvist would not be a bad thing in my mind It will make the rough year ahead much more interesting.

I guess Colin Wilson's road to the NHL just got a whole lot easier. At least he's already "home".

I wonder what we could get for Bonk, Fiddler, Smithson, and move Jones to the third line along with Wilson & MAYBE Geoffrion ... If we're going to change our philosophy in how we play hockey, might as well start right ****ing now

100% agree. I know I'm in the minority but I'd much rather this than signing a "top 6" guy that costs too much and is past his prime. Chicago brought in Toes and Kane out of necessity and were the most entertaining team i saw last year. I don't pretend that our guys are in that category of skill but I'd be willing to force these 4 guys into the lineup and see what happens. Wilson and Hornqvist on the 1st and 2nd line, Jones on the PP, Philstrom playing on the little line of hate.

Try this instead:

Erat-Arnott-Dumont
Hornqvist-Legwand-Wilson
Jones-Bonk-Ortmeyer
Pilstrom-Nichol-Tootoo

Xtra: Smithson/Fiddler and Gratton

Weber-Suter
Hamhuis-De Vries

Xtra: Zanon (or Sulzer)

I don't like Legwand being on a line with 2 very young rookies.

Why not? I understand it's an unconventional 2nd line but they will shoot the puck, he will pass. His speed and commitment to D will cover some of their mistakes. Wilson's size is a nice complement. They provide energy and excitement to Mr. Calm. Best of all Legwand isn't going to ***** about it like many "stars" would.

Just because of the fact that they are rookies. I know those kids will be good, and Legwand can cover some of their mistakes, but just the fact that they have ZERO NHL experience worries me a little. But I did see Wilson at camp and he did play defense well and was a nice big body out there.

Also, I wonder if Leggy's #'s might suffer, at first as they adjust to the NHL, and I would have to listen to crap about Legwand not earning his $$ (though this is purely selfish).

since the case with this team is that they are not going to add salary, it would only make sense to bring on the young guns and see what they can do. The Preds can not afford any of the remaining UFA's nor do they have the roster spots so:

Dumont-Arnott-Hornqvist
Wilson-Legwand-Erat
Philstrom-Fiddler-Tootoo
Ortmeyer-Nichol-Smithson
Jones-Bonk-Gratton

Bring up all the kids and see if they flourish like Chicago's kids did. It looks like a tough year on the horizon so lets see what the kids have??? Thoughts??? At least our D core is still strong!!!!!!

You guys need to trade 1 or 2 d-men for forward help. This lineup is not good enough. It should be obvious to anyone. Lots of teams out there need some d-men. Philly, Buffalo come to mind. WHat is Poile waiting for?
