Was Guy Rouleau one of them, former star from the Hull Olympiques? And how about Éric Messier's story. Went from playing for the Roadrunners, that made him have a shot to play with the AVS and won the Cup....

I went to a game once, sat first row right behind the net, a few seats away from the goal judge. The goal judge game me one of those game used plastic pucks. Pretty cool for a youngster

people in montreal only live for ice hockey. they have no idea what roller hockey is like. it never had a chance.

roller hockey is a different type of hockey. It's a hell of a lot faster because it's all about strategy. You dont have the luxury to stop and go like on ice hockey. and the puck flies at least twice as fast....

And Yvan "Roadrunner" Cournoyer was the head coach!
He went from there to assitant-coach with Tremblay!

I actually went to a game and own both home and away jerseys. I got them as a gift when I was young.

Went to a bunch of games. Lots of fun. I remember Cournoyer and Schultz, who was coaching the Philly team, almost getting into it. Very hammy - pro wrestling style. The Roadrunners were good - their most exciting player was Real Godin, who drove a Laval city bus. I think he wore number nine.

I do remember them and how they came very close to winning the cup but lost to San Jose. I wonder, had they won would it have lasted longer up here?

Corrado Micalef in net, almost 10 years after he played in the NHL!

I also remember Jean-Ian Filiatreault as a goalie!

I might still hve their t-shirt somewhere...I remember going once and the Molson Centre was very empty...it felt weird. It's funny to see that all the players on the team were French Canadians...Michel Bergeron and Réjean Tremblay probably both had a huge orgasm when they saw that roster.
