If I had to guess, I'd say that the Blues will end up picking up Osgood's option. Most fans would rather see one of the young guys take over... not because Osgood was bad by any means, just to start the rebuilding process.

LittlePenguin, what is the goalie situation in Pitsburg? You have three very good goalies in Choidi, Fluery, and Caron. Are any of them going to be moved?

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that it will be someone who is not currently (as of 6:00 PM CDT on May 19, 2004) a member of the organ-I-zation.

I think the Blues will make a move for a younger, less expensive option, and convince Osgood to retire and become the organ-I-zation's goaltending consultant... Keith Allain's boss, in other words, since Allain keeps getting other gigs (like working with the USA U-20 team) that take time away from the time he can spend working with the Blues' goalies and goalie prospects.

Just my hunch.

I don't see Osgood retiring just yet.

But Ozzy as a goaltending coach in the future, I like.

i like what prussian mentioned in a previous thread...

let sanford and divis be the goalies.. and bring barulin over from russia to play for the icecats... since he is supposedly not getting much playing time over there.

Senor rational!

It`s hard to say who play`s in Pittsburgh because Chiodo is hot and Caron plays also very good!
Fleury cooled off a little bit but I think he comes back very strong!

So all three are strong contenders for the job!

This is my list for next year!
#1 Fleury
#2 Chiodo but Caron will push him for playing time!!
#3 Caron
