Kings Interested in Spezza/Emery and Stamkos

According Eklund the Kings want BOTH Emery and Spezza to LA. And they aslo may trade up to get Stamkos. What would the Kings need to give up, a lot I am thinking.

I'd want Kopitar + for Spezza.

Good luck getting Kopitar out of LA - for Spezza or otherwise.

Good god, slow news day for Ek. I suppose Tampa could trade out of #1 and make a website SeenDoughty.com or SeenBogosian.com....

While I would love to see Stamkos shipped out of the SE Division, I just don't see Tampa trading him.

Is Kopitar + worth it for Spezza. And how much better is Spezza than Kopitar.

This is a freaking retarded rumor.

LA is tipping their hat they are going to take Doughty or Bogosian. They need defensemen.

They have 0 need for another goaltender right this second especially Emery.

What is the need for Spezza at his new salary when you have Kopitar for cheap????

Eklund needs to stick to rooting for Philly to come back against the Pens, which is a complete pipe dream anyway.

No, I'd want nothing for Emery. Despite the Spezza hate on HFboards you are talking about one of the top 5 PPG players in the NHL in Spezza, who is signed longterm at a reasonable price. He has alot of value, and would fetch a premium on a trade.

Anyone got any other ideas as to what LA would give for Spezza? All I see is Spezza hate and insuations that he couldn't get us a 7th round pick in a trade....

If this rumor is true, then Emery wouldn't be included just for LA's benefit. Ottawa wants to get rid of Emery so they can sign Huet, but nobody will take him off their hands for free. Including Emery offsets the higher value of Spezza.

How about you keep Spezza as part of your core since you signed him to a multi-year deal?

You can probably get a mid round pick for Emery at the draft and that solves that problem.

LA isn't going to deal Kopitar and they have no desire to trade up to get Stamkos.

Well, if they're going after Spezza AND Stamkos, I'd have to assume that Kopitar would be leaving in one of the trades. Probably to Ottawa. Since they're also getting Emery, maybe they are going to get rid of Bernier??? Bernier and the 2nd overall to Tampa for the 1st overall. That's the most logical scenario (though it doesn't make much sense for LA IMO) that I could come up with.

This is exactly what will happen, and as a Sens fan, I'm perfectly happy with that.

Kings fans should be happy, too, since they're going to get a second franchise defenseman to go with Johnson with that #2 pick.

And Tampa gets Stamkos, who they're already advertising.

Oh come on. Either one on their own is a rumour, but to tie them together? It becomes a Frankenstein-monster of a speculation that begs for a mercy killing. I dunno whether to laugh or cry.

Yes, because Kopitar for Spezza isn't realistic in terms of value.

Los Angeles finally has some solid young talent, a great core to build around no way are they going to make a huge trade like this. Its a lateral move, if anything.

As far as Tampa dealing the no. 1, while its a possibility I highly doubt it.

It isn't, you must've missed the HFmemo, Spezza is garbage, one of the most over-rated players in the history of professional sports.

Geez, do you not know anything?

I agree. If LA does make any "big" moves it better be for some high caliber d'men, not more offense.

I wouldn't call Spezza garbage but in no way is he worth Kopitar who is a rising young star,Spezza seems to be made of glass would probably get killed in the west anyway.

Okay, you don't have to want to trade Kopitar for him, but to say they don't have comparable worth is deluding yourself. Just because a high-scoring forward doesn't dish out hits, doesn't make him worthless.
