I would take Marleau over Korky. When Marleau had a hot night, the team won. I really think Michalek with his size, skill, skating ability, skill, creativness, defensive awarness well sky rocket Marleau.....Marleau needs somone who can follow him and dish him the biscuit better. Vinny couldve been that but he's not as fast as he used to be. Well he never was fast, but the players around have gotten faster.

MVP= Nabokov.
2nd = Marleau
3rd= Scott Hannan.....I guess that would be it....but Vinny carried the offensive load vs the Avs. So mabey him over Patty....IDK tough call.

Unsung hero: Mike Ricci, Played hard and good every night, Made alot of smart plays. Also Mike Rathje, aside from some mental errors, was great.

Not Nabokov. He had his moments, but he was bad in odd-man situations. Obviously the team gave up too many of these, but he needs to come up with the save on many of them ... I don't know if he stopped any one-on-ones at all.

Damphousse is my vote.

If Marleau can't find offense with Korolyuk...Marleau has had some many different players play with him and his scoring has always been inconsistent. That's just how he is, streaky.

MVP...there is one? Hmmm, guess I'd give it to Nabokov first.

I guess second would be a tie between Korolyuk and Jonathan Cheechoo.

I do agree with Max that Ricci played rather well in the playoffs.

Nabby carried a huge load for the team and got them to the conference finals with his amazing play in the first two rounds.

I thought Ricci was really poor. It's clear to me he is out of San Jose. No question I would take Vinny back 7 days a week over Ricci.

3. Nabokov
4. Vinny

Better then i expected = Goc (looked better then most of our players out there)

Worse then i expected = Ekman (what happened big guy ? )

Exactly. Damphousse is easily the MVP. He is always a standout in the playoffs.
He scored most of the goals in the Colorado series after the first 2 games. I just watched a program on Montreal's 1993 Stanley Cup win. Damphousse scored many of the important goals in that run and 11 years later he is still doing it.
Nabokov would have been had he not faltered in the last series.
My runner up would be Scott Hannan.

Nabby has been the most consistent and best player each game. Patty, korky
and the rest have been inconsistent at times.

Sorry all, Scottie Hannan gets the vote from me. He was simply our best defenseman, unfortunately, he tried to to much at times, and in the last 2 games screened Nabby twice, both resulting in goals.

But those 2 errors about sum the entire negative Hannan had in all 3 series. He was our best, most consistent D-man.

Thanks Hannan....

I would say Rathje was the best defenseman in the Calgary series.

None of the defensemen really were sparkling over the entire playoffs. They all have some lowlights. Stuart didn't have a particularly good playoffs. McLaren was okay. Marshall was okay. Preissing, Fahey and Davison all did fine in their limited action.

Most of the forwards are this way too. This is the one reason some of us are happy with Ricci, because he put in a rather consistent effort, played gritty...decent Ricci hockey. He's nearing the end of the road, yes, but...he ain't the minus Primeau and Brown are...

Can't say much bad about Toskala....

Korky disappeared in games 5 and 6.. a MVP plays well during the most critical times.. id say Nabokov is your MVP.. the guy kept the sharks in it in games 5 and 6...

and you cant blame him for letting goals on oddman rushes.. the team shouldn't be letting that many in the first place

Nabokov & Vinnie. Nabby had an overall stellar playoff year, I guess he's not just the regular season goalie some started to claim.
