Wow this sound pretty interesting doesn't it. Well, here are the details.
First, it located in the upper State of New York. I am looking for someone to help run this program. The head coach will have to be pretty committed to the project.
The job will be to run a Div I - J.V. team. Which, depending on how you do, might get you to the next level. The JV team is considered a club sport. However, they are currently getting financial support from their University in the tune of about $30,000.00 a year.
Not bad for a club sport. However, ALL of this money goes toward Ice and travel. The budget money for this position is very small. Around $5,000 to $6,000 USD.
Now, from past experience, it's always just a little bit higher when you are in the job. Generally, there are ways to increase the coaching salary. So don't let this be a show stopper for you.
One of the things that you will have to do with the team is set a pratice plan, run practice, change lines during games, and not be so aggressive. The players are not out to win the Stanley Cup! They are out to have fun and play the game of hockey. They are not there to bring home any hardware, so they tell me. This too, from experience, will change, once you are on board.
If you are in the upper New York State area and are interested in coaching a college team, please send me a PM and I will send you my email address for you to forward a resume to me for review.
