NHL store in NYC

Im going to New York for the weekend.Last time I went (2 years ago) there was no NHL store.Im really looking forward to going in there.

Anyone been this year?Should I expect lost of Habs merchandise or nothing special.Any autograph jerseys,frames?

Don't get your hope up or you'll be very dissapointed. It isn't very big and they don't have much merchandise. If you think it's anything like the NBA store then you're in for a suprise.

Never been to the NBA store,but to be honest I didn't expect much of the NHL store either since they don't really care about hockey

MJG - you are correct, it was disappointing. I thought it would be filled to the rafters with merchandise.

Yep. I was in NYC over the weekend and I was very disappointed with the NHL store.

Actually there's some Habs merchandise here. My brother bought a jersey and a water bottle and it was cheaper than in Montreal. I think the jersey went for $100, which aint bad.

I went to the NHL Store in Manhattan in the first couple of weeks that it opened. It is ultimately disappointing.

They don't have much product line, especially if you want a particular team. The jerseys they sell are printed with iron-on letters. The "hockey-themed" Starbucks is not really that hockey themed.

Some of the cool things about it however, 1) it's interesting to see a Canadiens jersey on a mannequin looking out to a street in Manhattan (very rare sight!); 2) they record the XM NHL Radio shows there, so you can get a feel of what that's like.

They should put an NHL Store in Toronto and Montreal. It would do really well, because even international tourists like to take back something that embodies the city and its culture. NHL Hockey captures both cities very well.

Cosby's, a sports store, is pretty much the only hockey store in Manhattan that has anything interesting. But it's all Rangers stuff and just regular jerseys. Kind of expensive too.

Nothing really that great,not much Habs selection in there.They received all the caps for the upcoming draft but not the Habs one

.Lots of french people in New York this weekend and 1 kid got him self a Sergei jersey customized.

Saturday night,me and my GF are talking to 1 of the guy who works there about how crazy Montreal gets when the Habs are in the playoffs and who walks in,Latendresse with his pregnant GF and another couple.It was pretty cool but me or my GF didn't really wanna talk to him..

City is great but the store is pathetic
