That was a dumb move by Drogba slapping Vidic. What was he thinking? He pulled a Zidane.

I honestly don't know but my supposition is because he's the captain and he has a tremendous chance of winning it all by scoring on the penalty. How great will that be for Chelsea fans if Terry scores on the penalty to make Chelsea CL champions over Manchester United? That would be in your memories for ever right? Nonetheless, he was unlucky to lose his footing on the penalty shot. It was really unfortunate...

Anelka was available for the 5th spot... I watched the game with friends at home and when Drogba got his red card, I told them: "I have a feeling that he's going to go through the same thing as Zidane went through vs Italy at the last WC"... OK, Drogba is not retiring from football but he might have played his last game at Chelsea.

i dont watch soccer, but for the first time i actually sat through this game and watched it.

Chelsea reminded me of the habs...getting all kinds of chances but just unable to finish.

The rain also hurt them. Id even go as far as saying the rain was part of the reason why they lost! (slipping on a shot comes to mind).

There wasnt as much diving as i've seen before, but i have to say, some of these guys are really good at selling the act. Sheesh.

Im not a fan of either team, but i felt for Chelsea. Really.

I hate Chelsea with a passion even though Ballack is my favourite player (currently playing). I also hate C. Ronaldo more than I hate any player that has ever played in any sport.
So I was kinda meh about this game.

I don't. He's whiny and his Sean Avery Ego makes me wanna punch him. I'd do Mike Ricci before I'd do C. Ronaldo.

Think I've got a shot with Higgy?

Honestly, though, C. Ronaldo could be a well-loved player by everyone given his potential greatness but his attitude is ridiculous.
It's like if you took Sidney Crosby's talent and then combined that with the attitude of Avery, Upshall, Downie, Pronger, and Jokinen (and the IQ of Derian Hatcher) and added Komisarek's looks.

Can you point to specific incidents that speak to his poor attitude? I can think of one in particular, the most obvious one at the World Cup. However, it seems like everybody in the world had a bigger fit about it than even Wayne Rooney himself. It really is a wonder why Rooney and Ronaldo are great friends, despite that?

Ronaldo in his younger days was a diver. No questions about it. However, he has grown up significantly after his World Cup experience. Yet, you somehow seem to lump him into the same boat as Avery, Downie and Pronger? Not even close. I'd equate him more with a Mike Ribeiro. Someone who was petulant as a younger player, but grown up to take a leadership role on his club.

I remember yelling at him to get up so many times during the World Cup. I truly think he matured since the last WC... Looking forward to his performance at the Euro...

Like huh.... 100% of football players? I don't think we should start listing football players who dive because we'll still be here at the end of Euro 08... Did _________ dive to get the penalty? How many times have football fans ask that question?

Ugly? You must be one real Brad Pitt to call him ugly... I don't think anyone on these forums has the right to call him ugly... Guy could pull any woman he wants.

Ronaldo embelishes, but everytime he goes to the ground he is getting fouled. He's not diving without getting touched.

A thread that started with Manchester United vs Chelsea for Champions League honors... and now it's a back and forth rebuttal about diving ... Come on...
