In a heartbeat. Too bad he is signed to a very good contract and is a very good player. No way would LA trade him.

The question is... What is the right price? Whatever it is, we don't have it.

lol, ok the way I phrased it was kinda stupid...
What I meant is it feasible to acquire him, since LA has many young skilled forwards who aren't quite in their prime and aren't elite yet.
And that given, what would it take?

They need Defense, solid 2 way defensive players and goaltending.

Tyutin, Prucha/Dawes + Hollywood

we have an excess of 3-4 defensemen, 2 way players, but not goalies...unless we shipped over Wiikman or something haha.

Highly unlikely we could pull him away from LA. But it'd be great if we could.

I don't see LA trading Frolov, but if they do we should be all over it.

well anyways, the Kings are shopping Cammaleri, preferring to keep Kopitar, Brown, Frolov, etc.

I remember the beginning of the season when LA was shopping him, i was BEGGING for the Rangers to trade for him.

Alas... now it would be near impossible without giving up way too much.

I think there would be no point in trading for him if you give up Cherepanov, Dubinsky, Anisimov and Staal... because teh whole point of trading for a guy like Frolov is to make your young corp. stronger, not depleting it for one guy.

Who in their right mind would give up a player like Frolov for 1) A defenseman who can't decide whether he's supposed to be offensive or defensive, and who simply cannot get the puck through to the net no matter what he does, 2) A former 29-goal scorer turned 7-goal scorer who can't stay out of the press box and when he does manage to get onto the ice, can't stay on his feet, and 3) A completely useless goon who does nothing more than take stupid penalties and cost his team important games?

Awful, just awful.

I couldn't agree more.

If you're looking for Frolov, be prepared to give Dubinsky, 1st, and then some...

They could use help on defense, and a center.

I would imagine they would be interested in Staal, but Lombardi knows Sather isn't giving him up unless he's packaging him as part of a bigger deal for Ovechkin/Crosby/Malkin etc.

I'd say Dubinsky, Sanguinetti, 1st.

I know we as fans over value our own players but that is insane for an offer.

Frolov is no crosby/ovechkin. We don't see enough of him obviously, to consider giving up either player mentioned and 1st.

This is one of those "you know what you got and don't know what you don't." The ceiling on either Dubi or Sangy is higher then Frolov, like it or not.

Thanks

Got to agree with Bogans. As much as I have loved watching Dubi play he is not going to outperform Frolov. And Sangs has not proven yet that he could play defense in NHL.

Come on these suggestions are bordering on ridiculous. Why would L.A. trade one of their future stars? Would I want him if we could get him? Of course, but that doesn't make him available at any time to us.

You're TERRIBLY overvaluing Dubinsky and Sanguinetti.

Frolov scored 35 goals and 71 points in 82 games last year, and scored 23 goals and 67 points in 71 games this year, VERY impressive numbers in LA, a team that has been in the lottery both years, and to boot, he still has a higher ceiling than Dubinsky. I love Dubinsky, but Frolov is already twice the player that Dubinsky is, and is only going to get better.

Don't even get started on Sanguinetti, we're all high on the kid, but he hasn't played a single game in the NHL yet.

No doubt I'd trade for him if for some reason the Kings wanted to deal him. I don't think it'll happen though, especially with what we'd have to offer back.
