Hypothetical Question(s)

No, I don't support trading our next captain-Drury, our franchise defensemen-Staal, or our best young forward-Dubinsky, but what could they get us in a trade. Give one offer with disregarding their contract status, and one offer that involves the players' salaries.

Well Drury has a NTC that he would have to waive first

That's why it is called a hypothetical question.

There you have it. Disregarding their CURRENT CONTRACT STATUS.

Drury is overpaid by a lot, I think only a team with plenty of cap space that is young and inexperienced would take a chance on him. Think Columbus or LA. What would they be willing to give up?

I think C-bus would give us Klesla and a 2nd.....I'd do it jsut for the cap relief.

i've got a hypothetical question: if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it make a sound?

Discussing trading Drury is a waste of time though. Hypothetical or not, I fail to see the point in discussing something that has essentially a 0% chance of ever happening. He has a NTC, makes 7mill per year for 4 more years as a 2nd/3rd line center. But since it's hypothetical Drury for Malkin straight up. Maybe ask for the Pens 1st in 08 and 1st in 09 as well to make it even.

He has the potential to become one and is showing signs of taking the necessary steps.

although there is absolutely no way it would happen the only way i see Drury traded would be to someone with lots of caps space.

i also think it would have to be a like for like deal salary wise, as i said it wont happpen but if it did something like Drury for Marleau as San Jose had interest before and if i am right Drury has a home in Cali. if that was offered i'd probably take it, as 2 years of marleau cuts Drury's contract in half. But he would have to waive the NTC, so many what is as posted before its irrelevant

good god wish the season would hurry up and start this is pointless,

Sather broke the bank on a 22 goal scorer. Yay..worst move ever. This is why we are the Rangers/Knicks/Yankees. Should have saved that money and invested in Hossa this year. OR we could have gotten a Ryder and Rolston for that money who COMBINED can make up Drury's stats... Drury is not a 7 million dollar player. He's more like 3.5. Yes yes, he brings "leadership". W/e we are stuck with him.

Hypothetically, the Penguins are laughing at us. (yes I know it was a joke, but I'm impressed, my imagination wouldn't have gotten us that much lol)
