Higgins is better than Sergei as of now. Deal with it. You don't magically score 27 goals while playing with Koivu and Dandy/Smoke/Streit for over 40 games.
He is, as of today. But, Higgins would also compliment the 3rd line better IMO.
I hope we sign Rolston, thus making our third line Higgins-Chipper-Rolston. What a great 2way third line that would be IMO.
Moving Lats up with the two SKs.

Getting Hossa would be great, but i really wish we could sign Campbell. That would really make our D special and would give us great defensive prospects to trade.

Everytime I read a thread about Sergei Kostitsyn, it doesn't take a lot of time before I read the name "Chris Higgins". I wonder why?

Honestly, the guy will be great next year after getting half a year of NHL experience. Obviously, he can get the "sophomore" jinx but I honestly don't think he will go through that. I hope he will get more PP opportunities and more offensive responsibilities if the Habs don't get any UFA this summer. I expect him to hit around 15G 35A for 50 PTS next year. Watching him and his brother will be awesome for years to come.

I'm glad the team has 2 young forwards of such quality. The fact that they bring different things to the table doesn't spark any debate as to who is better, or it shouldn't, should it ? So now, they have 4 wingers who could easily give them 25+. Maybe with a ufa, some devlopment from Lats, we could have 6, the team's come a long way.

To try and denigrate just seems kind of weirdly petty. Personally, there are a lot of areas that some of these guys need to improve, and I hope we see signs of it next year.

my 3rd line choice remains: Higgins Chips Skost

and i think it will be one of the best 3rd line evar! !
That's what I'm thinking. Sign a quality top 6 winger and have the following top 9:

Andrei-Plekanec-Kovalev
Latendresse-Koivu-UFA
Higgins-Chipchura-Sergei

That could work or maybe you use Grabo in that third centre offensive role and your energy/checking line is

Kosto - Chips - Lapierre

I could live with that, as shown below...

... so that we can get a read on what Grabs can do for us. Some people keep commenting on our (lack of) depth at centre and yet we have this young guy who keeps improving his game. He isn't perfect, but if anyone can point me in the direction of a Hab who just got off the back of a flawless season, I'd be most interested (and confused). He has paid his dues, he really wants to play for the team, he puts the effort in to improve - lets give him a shot with some good linemates (Higgins/Sergei) and give him 30 games or so. At least then we have a better idea what we can expect from him in the future.

Ya.... no.

I'd rather have Rozsival over Campbell tbh anyway.

But also I'd rather have Hossa than either of them.

As of Grabovski instead of Chipchura on the third. Well, we'll see if Grabs is be able to add some lower body and upper body strength by the end of the summer. If he can't, then I prefer Chipchura. His offensive upsides are really underrated.

Akost Pleks Kovalev
Lats Koivu UFA
Higgins Grabs S.Kost
Begin/TK Chippy Laps

Roll 3 offensive lines and a solid shutdown line, with the second line able to play a decent 2 way game.
S.kost is one o fmy favourite players and i think he can be a big player in the nhl. His playmaking skills are amazing.

Exactly what I want. First line was great for most the year, no reason to break them up. I thought the Higgins Grabs Sergei line was good when they were together this year and it gave us three offensive lines. Latendresse needs to be with Koivu as he is being wasted on the 4th line. Also Lapierre is way better on the wing and them 2 with TK would make a good checking/energy line.

This year worked out better as players stepped up and lines were kept together for a good chunk of the season.
The line of S Kost, Koivu, Higgins worked really well as their playing styles complemented each other. The finish wasn't there all the time, but it was still a really good line.
I expect some good things from him this year with his experience and a full season.

Actually, I agree that Higgins should be bump to the 3rd line, I thionk he would be one of the best 3rd line player in the league, anyway, IMO, Higgins is not 1st line material
