Money, Money, Money, Money - MONEY!

Just wondering if anyone knows, could guess, or anything. A complete shot in the dark would even be a help.

Does anyone have an idea of how much money the Flames have made over these playoffs. (Tickets, Merchandising, JERSEYS ESPECIALLY, etc.)

Thanks to any/all who answer.

I might be wrong, but I believe revenue from stuff like jerseys goes to the league, not to the individual teams

I thought that in the Flames Fan Attic they take something like 50% of the profit. I could be wrong on that but if I'm right they would have made alot of money there when there was no jerseys in the city anywhere save those Fan Attics.

Maybe Calgary can use some of the extra cash to keep this team together.

Well, the magic number that I always hear regarding each home playoff date is $1 million US. So Calgary will have 12 home games, but I don't know what that number my exclude (jerseys, etc). Anyways, the flames will indeed turn a profit this year as they have stated publically.

We discussed this before.

The question gets even more interesting, now that the organization's had the maximum number of home games. The ownership group certainly deserves a profit. You can just bet on some salary increases.

Probably not enough to resign the newest member to the 10 million $$$$ club ..your ex captain Iggy .
I hope ime wrong but todays NHL players all want "fair market value" .

Iggy seems to like it here in Calgary, I would asume he'd do all he can to reach an agreement.

The club wants Iggy too, They will try very hard I'm sure.

I agree wholeheartedly, I don't see Iginla ever wanting to leave.

But (Theres always a but) his agent is Don Meehan so things could get messy.

No player "wants' to leave ..Weight didnt want to leave ,Cujo didnt want to leave ..but when the NHLPA is involved and ESPECIALLY that leech Meehan /Winter you know Iggy is gonna give the standard "i want FAIR market value" speech .
Hey i hope i wake up one morning and find out AK 27 has signed for 3 mill ,Nedved has signed for 2.5 mill and Iggy has signed for 7.5 and that world peace and world hunger have all been achieved ....but i think thats just what it will be ,a dream .

Jersey sales in the building, the team gets a big cut of it. Outside of the building? Zip - goes straight to the league.

The rule of thumb here is that every playoff series makes a team $1 million dollars (give or take a million depending on the city.. so lets say it's more like $2 million in Calgary).

That'd be about $8 million for a playoff run. Pretty good bread to spread around and resign guys like Conroy & such, then recoup a few of the losses the owners have substained over the years.
