What's happening with this board? Can anyone make a good and realistic proposal anymore? I see all these threads about ***** that would never happen in a million years.

I propose Gainey offer Mats Sundin six million dollars to play for the Habs in their Centennial year.
I think that signing Sundin for 1 year at 6M WITH Hossa at 7M for 5-6yrs is possible because Gainey will put everything to win the cup for the Centennial Year.
And, Sundin is signed for just 1 season so...not a lot a problems with the salary cap.

If Hossa is only after 7M, then Pittsburgh can sign him.
I like the idea of getting Michalek. I hate to lose Higgins...the pick to me is a toss.
Only keep IMO if the Habs can get the guy they most want with out having to move up in the top 3. That big skilled center we want! well most of us
Dandenault and a 7th rounder for nothing(futures considerations)
Gorges and 2nd rounder in 2009(from Washington, from elsewhere) for Trent Hunter. Is it enough?
Hunter was signed to a 5-year deal last season, no way he gets traded. Also the 2009 draft is deep and Gorges made great strides last year, we don't even win the deal.

What about Staal? Malkin? Letang will be coming up and I believe Fleury will be coming up in the near future. They sign Hossa at 7 mill, then they lose another great player, who's younger too.

Just for the heck of it... Michalek brings size, Higgins brings effort when playing well... both players are inconsistent.
Michalek may bring size, but I never see him use it. As for giving up our first round pick this year, it better be for something good, even if it is 25th.

That's over payment. Trent Hunter isn't worth that much, imo. Also, Gorges is a remarkable defenseman imo. The Rivet for him and a 1st was such a rip off it.'s not even funny.
