I also miss Valerie Bure.

In fact, I have a soft spot for anyone who was tiny and fragile.

Also, who can forget the true star of hockey:

Andre Bashkirov!!!! Still playing, FYI!

Not so much. But I like the little guys who work so hard to overcome being little, not the little ones who rely on god given talent and twinkies to get them through a shift.

On a totally separate matter Lucius, you wouldn't happen to be a liitle guy would you?

Gilmore is a probable hall-of-famer.

Nilan comes to mind. Heart of a lion. The Habs have not completely replaced him: a fighter who can skate. Who else was there that did this, in the past 25 years?

I miss Petrov too. No one could accuse him of not trying. Spectacular but mixed results, so sufficiently un-elite to qualify as fringe.

Stevenson wasn't fringe, neither was Gilmour or Juneau or Nilan.

I miss Todd Ewen's mullet.

Bure and Zednik for me. Bure could have been very good with better teamates and maybe he could have stayed in Montreal... as for Zednik I will always remember him as a Hab.

No doubt about it. Chris Nilan. It doesn't matter what era you talk about, you need a guy like that on your team. He's one of the fringes that protects the core!

If you don't say one of these three "Chris Nilan, Shayne Corson, Mike Keane" I probably wouldn't buy you beer.

LOL, I think Mitch let the cat out of the bag. If your downtown right now you might be able to catch a beer with Nilan on the terrace at Hurley's Pub...

None of those 3 would be considered fringe.

I don't really ''miss'' any players, but I did like Bulis, Juneau (isn't he up with the eskimos in Kuujjuaq, now? hahaha), Perreault and Zednik.

Fringers

Dave Morisette (ask Bob Probert), Andre Racicot, Noel Picard, Cam Conner, Glen Sather, Lucien Grenier, Leon Richefort, Gilles Thiboudeau and the ultimate fringer Bob Turner ( 5 Stanley Cups).

Ironically, no. I'm 6'3"!

Really, my soft spot for tiny hard working hockey players knows no logic.

Another one I miss is PJ Stock. I liked him so much better when he was on the ice, where you couldn't hear him talk...
