I went with Gaborik. Iginla is probably the best (of the three)offensively. Ruutu is probably the best defensively. Gaborik has the best combined game... he could score 100pts and under JL's watch, you know he'll play D. Iginla is already in his prime...maybe not the best 3 to compare. Over the next 10 years, IMO Gaborik will be the best.
Tuomu Ruutu. This season he proved that he has the potential to be a real gamebreaker, as much so as Gaborik. While I think that Iginla is at a point in terms of talent and production that neither of the others will reach, Ruutu should and will be a very consistant producer while Gaborik will probably suffer from inconsistancy (see this season.) However, his youth (and Jacques Lemaire) might help him overcome that. I still go with Ruutu.
Wow! 70% of the responses here are pro-Gaborik, yet he's in 3rd in the poll!
I go with Gaborik (barely) over Iginla, simply because of Iggy's age. If he was 23, I'd vote for him. But as we have (painfully) seen the past few years, physical players become much less of a threat in their late 30's (see: Shanahan, Yzerman, Messier, Lindros, etc.). And Gaborik is just scratching the surface of his potential right now. If he were allowed to show some offensive skill, I think he could easily get 45 goals and 90+ points a season.
Ruutu, I have to admit, I haven't seen him play much. Very few Chicago games are on TV, so unless he's playing against Toronto on HNiC, it's hard to see him. Everything I've read about him, however, sounds very good, so...
