Just completed a mock draft, let me know what you think.

With the 3rd pick overall, Drew Doughty D, Guelph Storm

With the 29th/30th pick overall, Eric Nemisz RW, Windsor Spitfires

The Kings took Bogosian, so I gladly took Doughty at the 3 spot.

I was torn between Gardiner(D) and Nemisz for our 2nd selection in the 1st round. However all things being equal between the two, our lack of high end wingers...along with a general lack of size among our forward propsects led to to take Nemisz. With the addition of Doughty, along with the progression of some of our D prospects this year...I felt we could pass on the talented Dman from Minnesota.

I like the picks, though I still see the second 1st rounder being packaged in a trade.

If the Nikulin negotiations are serious, package the 1st plus say XLB for a forward, slide Nikulin into XLB's spot, buy out Zhitnik and sign a good FA D-man, and you're set. If you're not positive you can get Nikulin over, trade the 1st plus XLB for a good D-man if you can, maybe somebody due to become a UFA after 08-09.

I would also be surprised to see the Thrashers keep the Pens 1st rounder, however no trades were allowed in the mock.

Solid mock btn. It's Greg Nemisz, though.

I'd okay with trading Pittsburgh's 1st rounder, but only if it's a trade up or down in the draft. People, we need a shift in direction and stop trading away our high picks. Sign players out of Europe to fill roster spots & open the pocket for one or two "smash hit" free agents. No more Ivan Majesky kind of deals! *puke*

I hope the Thrashers package the Pittsburgh pick with XLB to move up and get Colin Wilson, he's a beast
