I'm against trading away any of our top young Dmen for unproven kids. We have a nice mix in a foundation of Girardi, Staal and Tyjtin. I'm confident they will all get better as they continue to mature.

I maintain that the Rangers need some big bodies with solid potential and legit mean streaks, both upfront and on D.

With a draft this deep, trading down might be a good option for acquiring the right prospects.

I'd like:

#28 - Ness
#32 - Gustafsson
#48 - Staal
#51 - Livingston/Burlon
Theres no way he lasts that long.

Hasn't come out, yet. I posted it last year. When I get the notice from the NHL I'll let everyone know.

LA gets a compensatory 3rd from us. Does that mean pick #75 goes to the Kings?
i believe so, the rangers have the canes and the kings have the rangers'....so the rangers 3rd rounder should be higher in the third round(lower #)

Not really high on Hayes but he did do well at the combine I hear, and he;s a big winger, I could see our scouts considering him.

I believe the Rangers have the Canes third rounder and their own third rounder. The Kings get a compensation pick from the NHL for not being able to sign a player the Rangers trade (Marek?) .

Yes, I expect one of the picks to be used in a trade up scenario if one of the players the Rangers rate highly falls (Staal scenario).

I just don't know why Sather doesn't try to acquire more picks in trades.

it is a compensation pick from the Rangers... LA wasn't able to sign Marek so they get our third round pick.

so we are left w/ only 1 third round pick which is Carolinas.

It should be interesting to see. You never really see draft pick trades before draft day though unless it's for the top pick which we obviously won't get.

To me, I guess it depepnds on the situation. If you have a guy ranked in your top 5, and he drops to say 10-19 then I'd rather see them use picks to move up. For arguments sake, let's say they rank Wilson as a top 5 talent, and think he will be a really good player. I'd rather see them use pick/players to move up, and grab him rather then slide down. Of course, that could be a great deal (Staal) or a terrible deal... who knows... you have to try and have confidence in your scouts... and Sather...

I think he's a safe pick in this draft, already looks like a pro and is actually 6'3 195 by this point.

The one criticism I read in THN is that "Niemi could be a little more physical and mean." Not a ringing endorsement for a D-line that needs both of those attributes.

The Carlson bandwagon left a few days ago; you really need to be more punctual with these things.

Take it easy on the poor guy, I haven't seen him on here recently. For the record, I do agree that the Rangers should snatch Carlson at 20 if he is around, and if Tedenby is off the board.

Don't you worry, inferno knows exactly what he's getting from me.
