Scott Cullen writes columns for TSN regarding hockey. He has been writing the the Off-Season Game Plan for every team in the league. Each week he will pick one team and analyze what he thinks the team needs to do to be a better team. This week he pick the Flames. Below is the link.

he's right about the fact that we need secondary scoring which we can get from free agency (not super-likely) or younger players stepping up (hoping a lot for breakout seasons from Lombardi and Boyd). other than that he seems to be very focused on the stats. Matt Lombardi seems like a more complete player to me now compared to a year ago. his point production drop from 46 to 36 doesn't tell the whole story about his 07/08 season. no way Sarich is on the trade market IMO as well.

I like the idea of Lombardi as our full time second line centre but I don't know if Boyd will be ready to put up the 60 points he'd need to put up on the second line.

Although the effort was appreciated, the article was basically to tell us who's signed, who's an impending FA and that they'll need to make trades and sign some players. Pretty much what everybody aleady knew.

You forgot to mention that Scott Cullen also analyzed players and what they bring to the the table and the types of players he thinks Sutter could afford to sign rather than picking players such as Jokinen, Spezza, or Sundin who are not likely going to be on the team due to money.
