Sutter was in Detroit for Game 5

While watching game 5 Detroit vs Pittsburgh on CBC I saw Sutter in the stands watching the game. Due you think he was their to do some scouting of some of the UFA players that Pittsburgh or Detroit may have or was he just watching the game.

If you think he was scouting what players do you think he was looking at.

I saw that, too. He was sitting in the stands with a few other GMs (which ones I can't remember). They are conducting the GM meetings now and it is the Stanley Cup final so I'm not surprised that he was spotted with other GMs at the game.

Ryan Malone is expected to get 4-5 million this year, would you still want him then?

He like the other GM's around the league are drooling and licking their chops over the amount of pending UFA's on the Penguins.

The GMs can just watch the game, but I think most will be looking at all the free agents that Pittsburgh has and see who they can try to sign. Everyone except Marian Hossa will want a price most teams can afford.

Considering Sutter recently said he has room for a $3-5 million dollar player, you never know. Malone fits that bill almost to a tee for this club.

I know he has said that, but Ryan Malone for 5 million dollars per year is insane.

I think you can rule out grabbing a player currently playing for his hometown. Malone will stay a Pen.

I think so too, however the Pens are going to need to resign some major RFA's next year and maybe they let Malone go so they have the cap room to resign Malkin and Staal.

Well, if they want to keep Crosby, Malkin, and Staal together, someone has to go (like a UFA that could be overpaid elsewhere). Not that I'm a proponent of adding Malone, just saying.
