Is Malkin on the Block (merged)

What is my thread-If Malkin stays in Pittsburgh he will always be a second line center and I think he is more, more than that. It's not a secret, that he has all the tools to be a top 3 in the NHL and Montreal needs a player like him and I also think that Evgeni can be a first line forward for Canadiens for many years. For me there is a possible trade between Pittsburgh and Habs.I don't know what will be the price but I think that it is possible for you guys to get this talent.
My questions are:
Do you want Evgeni in Montreal ?
Do you think that he is capable to brings the Stanley cup back in Montreal ?

P.S. I dont want to nibble with the Penguins fans and I wish them luck, I just think that will be nice if Malkin goes to the Hockeyland

If you insist, I suppose we could find a spot for him.

There might be some rooms left for him on the 4th line.

I don't want him because I don't want to give up half of our team to get him...and I'm serious!

The Habs have more than enough quality depth to make the trade. There isn't enough room on the team for all the Habs prospects. Whenever you get the chance to get one the leagues top young forwards you make it happen.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Malkin's good, but can he handle fourth line duties?

Malkin in Montreal would be insane. That won't happen, though.

Na,I want Crosby

But seriously,I don't know when but Malkin will be traded some day by the Pens. They will build around Crosby and Staal

However I think the perfect trade partner for the Pens will be the Kings.Im sure Crosby will want 1 of his best friends back in return in Jack Johnson

Don't think so. We must have a d on the fourth line (Dandy or Streit). Malkin would take that place. So I would pass .

Staal will be paid alot less then Malkin.Staal is more reliable defensevly.

Also if you trade Staal you won't get that much in return.Malkin can rebuild a franchise by himself like 3-4 players and 2-3 picks!!

I don't think the Pens like the idea of Malkin making more money then Sid

The only guy I wouldn't trade to get Malkin would be Price, everyone else is available.

Yes, I agree - Evgeni should be the #1 player on a team to reach his full potential. Any moves we could make to get him into Montreal would be fine with me. Montrealers would love him right from the first goal, and if he played for us we could win a Cup in short order.

If the Pens trade Staal, they get themselves role players that will fill out their team and keep them over the top. There are better defensive players and its better to deal him when he still has "potential" labelled on his head instead of waiting until seeing if he falls short and becomes just a third line Center.

If they trade Malkin, they will never replace him in the line-up, period. It's a gaping hole. They can bring in an 80-90 point centerman and it still won't be the Hart calibre offence that Malkin brings. The only reason to do this is if the Pens can get back three-four players, looking like a second line center/2 wingers/defenceman that are not only excellent players, but already tied up to long term, low cost contracts.

In other words, if the Pens can somehow land Brad Boyes (St. Louis), Willie Mitchell (Vancouver), Thomas Vanek (Buffalo) and Dustin Brown (LA) for Malkin? Definitely. Otherwise, the package will never fit the price. To be honest, if I was the Pens, the only offer I'd even consider would be if Minnesota offered Mikko Koivu, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Marian Gaborik and Kim Johnsson for Malkin. Of course, theres always Kunitz/Getzlaf/Perry/Beauchemin, but Burke would never deal so much for a non-North American...

As for Montreal? The offer would likely be Plekanec, both Kostitsyns, Komisarek, 2 1st Rounders and Ryan McDonaugh. Even then, if I was the Pens, I'd look for better offers. Too much potential, not enough of it met yet.

Well the Red Wings proved that a goalie is not everything. I think I would put Price on the table for getting a player on the level of Malkin. Only...the Pens already have a good young goalie.

**** that, 2 points in the Stanley Cup Finals? I don't care how good he is in the regular season, I don't want a player with no heart who gets "tired" when it counts most. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
