The "Gaston" Thread

I wanted to make up a thread specifically for Martin Biron (says in French accent).

Many people were not giving the man any credit when the season began this year, saying how Philly needs a solid number one and someone who can take them the distance. I know it is still a LITTLE early but we have been in first place for exactly one month, and he is second in the league in wins and 11th in GAA. This city loves the man and he definetly is one of the most talked about Flyers this season (him or Mike Richards). I just like how Marty is always talking whether good or bad, like last night when he went up to the ref and was talking to him and the refs like "what do you think I am just staring down at the ice?"

How do you think he'll finish this season?

I don't mean Flyers fans, I mean other fans and the media in general. I remember reading something on SI.com that the Flyers could be a solid team but do not have the netminder to take them anywhere. I mean I heard things about it from all over the place. The best was a thread I read for ranking the netminders in the Eastern conference and everyone had him last or second to last. But I dont like to dwell on people stupidity.

I thought you meant people on this board because I was going to say most were pretty happy (except some individual who was unhappy about giving up a 2nd round pick) to see him come on over. He's been incredible since his first game with us last year.

Blast from the past thread.

Also, nuts to those people who wanted Niittymaki.

plenty of people, even some of my fellow Flyer fans didnt think Biron was a #1 goaltenter when the season began.
If this team ran with Nitty and Esche this season we wouldnt of made the playoffs. I dont care what anyone says.
