Habs Rumors

Here is a link to rumormethis concerning the latest Hab Rumors. Since I can't copy and paste the articles you will have to follow the links below. This is from http://rumormethis.com/ . We know about most of this stuff already but an interesting read regardless.

Article 1 (Pre Habs Draft News Part 1) http://rumormethis.com/rumors/player...s-news-part-1/

Article 2 (Something Breweing in Hab Town?) http://rumormethis.com/talking-hocke...g-in-hab-town/

Names mentioned are Redden, Lecalvalier, Kolzig, Sundin, Selanne, Demitra and Hossa. Possible others not lsted. Its worth a read.

Here are a couple rumors below. Check the articles for more rumors.

"Also there is mounting evidence that the Tampa Bay Lightning may be a little worried about Vincent Lecalvalier’s shoulder, and might be willing to trade him. Montreal is rumoured among other names to have thrown in Chris Higgins as part of a possible trade. Wouldn’t that be nice."

"Another un-confirmed report states that the Canadiens could be interested in soon to be RFA Wade Redden of the Ottawa Senators. Although I do believe that Redden still has juice in the tank, is he the answer the Habs need at the blue-line? Redden is a puck mover, and is not physical, considering that when the Sens went to the final last season that the Anaheim Ducks pounded him like there was no tomorrow, I’m not sure that he is the answer. He is still good, depending on the price, and depending on who the Habs will have surrounding him to be the physical presence."

Gainey better not go for Redden, or I'll throw up.

And if the Lightning were smart they would let Stamkos play with Vinny for most of the year and then trade Lecavalier for a hefty price at the deadline. Assuming they are as horrid as last year.

Redden will want a long-term deal and he'd just end up taking time away from the youngsters we got coming up. The way I see it is this year O'Byrne will be in for a full-time spot and after the year when Bouillon's contract expires another young guy will come up and take Bouillon's place (Valentenko most likely, possibly Yemelin).

Might I also add Redden was pathetic this year and he'll get $5 million still on the open market.

The Bolts are never gonna trade Vinny unless they have really bad news about his shoulder.

Maybe there's nothing going on 'cause there's actually......nothing going on???

How about all these others teams that aren't doing anything as well??? Are they all preparing blockbusters???

Ideally they won't, obviously. But there's going to be a point they have to say "Stamkos you are now our guy" and rebuild around him. If they spend two years at the bottom of the league or keep missing the playoffs then I don't see any other choice. But trading a player like Vinny could very well automatically make the trade Joe Thornton-like since he's so good himself.

Why Would tampa trade Vinny now? (unless if it s because of the shoulder)
They probably would trade him at the trade deadline if they want to do so.

Halak s here to stay.

Redden at 3.5? ok
since that ll never happen forget Redden

For Streit it ll probably be like Souray, Bob s gonna make his offer late...see if he can get something around july 1st....And then adjust according to the salary, on what he has, etc

I don't see the infatuation with Redden, he seems like an extremely soft player.

No thanks from this hab fan.

To me, I think he just needs a change...It s hard to play your best when it s clear your team doesnt want you.
Of course I wouldnt sign him for more than 2 years and that probably wont happen either.
But forget contract and everything, on our team, rejuvenated, and probably playin with revenge vs the sens, as a 4th D at 3.5M$ I d take him
If you look at Rivet play, he looks 5 years younger playing for the Sharks !
There ve been plenty of cases like that, he has the talent, he just wasnt playing with any heart and when you play with no heart, ye most of the times you ll be soft.
If however he does change here, that would give us a very , very solid top 6

Well, you know there's a special rule in the new rule that if a RFA is signed for 5
mill+, that team gets 3 first, but if he's 30 they team gets 6

Unless I'm missing something here, I'm quite sure Redden isn't a RFA

I don't put too much stock in any of those rumours. Most of them have been out there for years
