Has anyone heard anything about Pearn and the Florida position? I haven't heard much in a few weeks.

i think theres an article in the shanny coach thread that says Pearn is a finalist for the Florida job but thats it. I would think they will hire someone before the draft.

All I know is that J Bo is a HUGE Perry Pearn fan (I read he attended Perry's 3 on 3 hockey school mltiple times)... If Pearn stays, maybe he factors in acquiring Jay Bouwmeester...

Panthers' general manager Jacques Martin said Thursday that he's narrowed his list of coaching candidates to three or four and will interview them next week.

New York Rangers assistant coach Perry Pearn appears to be one of the finalists. Martin revealed Thursday he has gotten permission from the Rangers to speak with Pearn, who was his top assistant in Ottawa for eight seasons.

I hope we keep him, I thought he was a great coach just only this year it was the chemistry of the powerplay not the coaches

I hope Pearn gets the position in Florida.

We wouldn't have to worry about them being a force for a long time.

Penguins assistant coach Andre Savard is probably getting the FLA HC job.Jacques Martin and Savard worked together in Ottawa.

I hope we hold on to Pearn. I'm a big fan of his. Always seems to keep a level head. If he leaves we should bring in Patrick Ewing.

Pearn worked with Martin in Ottawa for 8 years.

The article referenced above clearly states that Savard hadn't even been approached, and that Pearn was a "finalist" along with Maurice.

Pearn will be the Cats' head coach by the end of next week, book it.

he doesn't have too good coaching experience. How about The Great One, not Gretzky. Isiah Thomas

big deal, they always deny the rumors, its like when a player is about to be traded. well those rumors are false blah blah blah and 2 days later that player is gone.

With Marc Crawford out in LA,Mike Johnston becomes an ideal candiate to join Renney's staff in some capacity whether or not Pearn gets the FLA HC position or not.

i hope the rangers can find a pp coach....let pearn handle the defense or w/e he deals with and the pk and pelino the forwards and have someone like allaire do the pp....montreal had a pp coach 2-3 years ago and look at them now...its all about finding the identity of the team....kind of like what happened this whole year withthe entire team, im sure the pp had the same problem

I don't that Pearn is really being considered as a candidate for any other job. The reason the Panthers were mentioned is because Pearn has a history with Martin.
