I think I'll check it out now, it's what I've been waiting for to get into the league. I catch it here and there, but the quality of the league is like watching the ECHL

It's really improved in recent years, especially since defensively American soccer players have become much, much better. What we lack is a lot of high-end talent that comes out of local places, which is why last year's top scores are not American in MLS.

Still, soccer is growing in the USA, and will continue to improve and bring over top quality young talent. I think watching a game you will be pleasantly surprised...people say its no good but they haven't actually watched. Little depressing and prejudiced, if you ask me, but thats the nature of this country.

very lucky draw for England; Gunners/Reds winner plays the Blues/Fenerbahce winner, which means another English team is virtually guaranteed a spot in the final

I would love MLS to come to Philadelphia.

I've never had a team to cheer for.

If i was a betting man, i'd fancy Liverpool to do Arsenal, Man Utd to cruise past Roma again, Barcelona to waltz through and Chelsea to do the same. Arsenal will beat Chelsea in the semi's and Barcelona will beat Man Utd. Barcelona win overall.

that'll be an interesting finish if it plays out that way...... and completely devastating for English football fans.

Barca and Chelsea have no excuses for not clinching a semi-final place. Arsenal and Man U. should go through, but I wouldn't be surprised if either were upset. Chelsea's pretty healthy these days and I think this is the best shot they've had since Roman has pumped his money into the team. It's tough to bet against Barca, but I'll call a Chelsea victory over Barcelona in the final.

It's clearly going to be a Fenerbahce-Schalke final

Don't want to step on somebody's throat, but soccer is so boring.

In Austria it's the #1 sport from spring to authem, no matter how bad we suck, what we really do.

I'm glad I escaped from it and discovered football, hockey and even baseball. They are all so much more interesting to watch than a single soccer game. Maybe my bitterness comes from Austria being so bad but I'm pretty much done with soccer. I'll give it a last shot with the european tournament in our country but I'm not optimistic.

Just my opinion.

The question is if "lucky" is the right word to describe it.

Controversy surrounded the Champions League draw today after the full slate of quarter-final ties - including Liverpool v Arsenal, Manchester United v Roma and Chelsea v Fenerbahce - were predicted nearly two hours in advance on the internet.

EDIT: Ah, just saw this was posted in the CL-Thread already. Nevermind.

Put money on Liverpool beating Arsenal. It's a guarantee.

English football has shown it's strength already this season. First time ever that 4 clubs from the same country have all made it to the quarters. I tell you now, Barcelona vs Man Utd will be the game of the century.

Arsenal are always a huge wild-card, they always raise their game against top teams over the past couple years, this is a tough call.

They lack experience for me, they didn't have enough to beat Barcelona before with Henry, i certainly can't see them winning it without him.

Scolari's taking over at Chelsea

Interesting that it's announced right in the middle of Euro..... and on a day that Portugal played, as well
