If we sign a defenceman I hope Bouillon is traded away. Dandenault needs to go regardless.
If we could trade them for a 2nd and a 3rd I'd be soooo happy.

Refusing to fill the hole you have now cause Sundin will be gone in two years when his contract expires (and he's off your cap) doesn't make any sense.

How can you people not understand this... :
If Sundin wants to play here, there's no question about us signing him. If he wants it, he's a Hab. Highly doubt he'd do that to Toronto though after declining the trade.

He stated why he didn't want to be traded, unrestricted as he is, is totally different. I don't see him being Loyal this time around, if theres a serious cup contender that wants him...I honestly believe he'll go there.

I'm seriously thinking of going undercover, and posing as an E4 or E3 source saying: OMG EKLUND GUESS WHAT?! CROSBY, VINNY, MALKIN, STAAL, OVECHKIN THEY ARE ALL BEING TRADED TO MONTREAL FOR SLIM PICKINGS! OMG OMG OMG!

Eklund:
Ovechkin: E5(mont)
Hossa: E5 (mont)
Crosby: E5(Mont)
Lecavalier: E5 (mont)
E.Staal: E5 (mont)
Malkin: E5 (mont)

I'm sorry for being so late! I was on the treadmill when my most reliable source informed me that montreal is becomming the superpower of the NHL. More to come! Stay Tuned!

If he does that, he'll be even more hated in Toronto. Especially if he comes to Montreal. I'd do it, but you can be sure the Leafs would get up for those games in a big way.

Take my word, all good UFA's will sign elsewhere, and we will end up signing Ryder and Recchi

Eklund: BLOCK BUSTER TRADE/SIGNING HAPPENING BETWEEN MONDAY AND TUESDAY.

As my watch stands its 10:44 and from what i've seen in the past, GMs don't work on deals past bedtime.

So flip you kind sir. Good Day to you

Next we have un-confirmed reports that the Habs asked about acquiring Brian Campbell when the Marian Hossa deal fell through, and that there is a possibility that they are wondering if he will be available come July 1.

The Miami Herald wrote that soon to be restricted free agent Jay Bouwmeester is noncommittal about his future for the Florida Panthers.

How about RFA Shea Webber of the Nashville Predators? At 6′3″ and 213 pounds with a mean streak, why wouldn’t the Habs offer a little package for him?

I was really, really hoping for some big news this morning. I mean, there was news, with the Avs and the Wild, but it weren't anything blockbuster.

'Cause a little package wouldn't be enough to acquire him.

Streit: Mon (e3)

We look to have two top lines and a solid D once again...where is all the money coming from?

The thing I'm laughing at is Huet is rumoured to be going to LA, Ottawa and Tampa Bay...all (e3), but no Washington???

What the ek?
of for sure, he should also do this, Eklund to be name GM of the Montreal Canadiens E(-)infinite... I expect again gainey to try for one big name.. but if he miss he will not have a backup plan like he did in previous seasons.. hopefully he has this year a some quality back plans. but i can tell ya about EK, i aint going anymore to his chitty crap anymore funny or not funny, good rumour (yeah right) or anything, i think i gave enough clicks to this guy for his life. enough is enough, its a commitment i made to myself.

I think it's can't be right. MTL-ATL trade broke down at something like 15h30, and Campbell trade was made and 13h, isn't it?

Yeah, that makes little sense, which punctures holes in that websites credibility. The only thing Montreal is said to have done after the Hossa deal fell through was inquire about Havlat.

I can certainly appreciate the efforts Gainey brings forth to aquire players but the poor guy always falls flat and i dont see anything different this summer. Hes going to go after Hossa, Sundin, Campbell and theyll end up on other teams. Kinda sad...

I have been impressed with fourth period the last few years. They are usally always right and only pick a few teams in the mix for each player.

Sundin is not even showing on the radar for montreal but they just put this up so it might change. Eklund is an idiot, honestly where does he get his rumors from??????

Hossa,Streit and Huselius,I would be really happy if we signed 2 of those 3

All depending on how much Huselius want's,I think he would be great with Koivu and Selanne

I agree any 2 of those 3 would be awesome. I don't think I would be too upset if Streit left either, we have enough young D man to rock the house in a few years.
